Stop the Thames Valley Police campaign to close G's Wine Bar in Bicester

      Bicester, United Kingdom

G's Wine Bar is a well-managed and popular independent local hostelry in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Owner George Smith has always abided by the terms of his license and cooperated with the local police during his 25 year tenure, yet he faces the very real prospect of having that license revoked.

This is because he is being held to be solely responsible by Thames Valley Police for all the drink-related incidents in the town which, as anyone familiar with the area will know, is totally unfair. G's Wine Bar doesn't want to be treated any differently from other hostelries in the area but the proprietor and his customers believe that it is. We the undersigned ask that the Police and local council adopt a more even-handed approach to tackling drink-related incidents in the area.

There has always been trouble in bicester - there will be in any town or city! Its silly this is being all blamed on G's wine bar?

The staff are the most welcoming i have come across - not just in bicester, we are treated like family. just because our town is falling apart, the blame has to go on someone, why G's?

OK so some trouble is caused - it is everywhere!!! personally i really dont think it will help any of the AntisociableBehaviour promblems we have, if anything - removing G's Wine Bar WILL make it worse!
