Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Music Service (CCVGMS) is deep in history and has benefitted thousands of young people in introducing them to music. These cuts would take away its inclusion and access for all students. The council MUST continue to support the Music Service in order for it to carry on its high quality of music tuition it offers.

Learning to play an instrument is an opportunity every child should have regardless of the ability to pay. Learning an instrument a child learns discipline, hard work pays off, teamwork if they also pay in music groups and orchestras, their heritage and culture and it is well known that children who play instruments reach their full potential academically because they are prepared to work hard and know that success comes from hard work. They learn all this in a presuable way. Priceless. Do not be so shortsighted as to make such swingeing cuts financially. All 6 of my children have benefitedfrom council music education and are now passing it on to their own children.

Music is largely absent from Cardiff schools, especially for better than average players. The county service provides opportunities otherwise only available in private schools.Music is not elitist but if the council removes it it becomes so. What a tribute to a labour authority!

Our grandsons attend Cardiff CBC school and will suffer quite badly in terms of the breadth of their education. This move is stupid.

Without music in schools and orchestras, bands and choirs for students there will be no future,
