Ask WHSmith to make gun magazines promoting animal killing age-restricted

    1. Petition by

      Animal Aid

Shooting magazines that contain images of people gloating over animals they have recently killed are available to children in outlets such as WHSmith. These magazines normalise the killing of animals for pleasure, encourage people to see animals as mere objects, and should not be placed alongside other lifestyle magazines. In 2012, an Animal Aid poll found that 74% of the public agree that these magazines should be removed to the ‘top shelf’ and 84% agreed that they should not be on sale to children.

People who slaughter innocent creatures are evil sick psychopaths and these magazines try to make their vile crimes seem acceptable. Shame on them and shame on WH Smith for selling death porn yet they put lads mags on the tops shelf, what a joke.

As a vegan who has grown up seeing other children throughout my school life laughing at the abuse and murder of other creatuers, I fully support the ban, and feel it a necessary development in making the world see the importance of animals

We should be informing the next generation that it is utterly cruel and unacceptable to kill innocent birds and animals. Shooting is not sport, it is a senseless and heartless act which should be banned. Shame on the retail outlets who think it is okay to promote shooting.

These magazines should not be sold at all but at the very least move them away from decent members of the public. I am considering taking my purchasing to another store to avoid contact with these magazines.
