Transport for London (TfL) wants to change the face of Northwood and take away 17 businesses based on and around Station Approach. They have draft plans for a 47,000 sq. ft. Sainsbury supermarket, 167 housing units and three car parks and traffic chaos around our town.
Save our Northwood is a campaign group for all Northwood residents and businesses, and has the support of Northwood Residents’ Association (NRA) and our three ward Councillors (Scott Seaman-Digby, Carol Melvin and Richard Lewis).
It’s early days as no planning application has come in yet but NRA has met TfL and discussed the draft plans. We feel that their approach rides roughshod over local people and will seriously affect local businesses and local employment. We are not against change, quite the opposite, but we want change to be done in line with the principles of localism and with residents’ interests at their heart.
