We the Civil Society of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are deeply anguished and concerned on recent skirmishes along the LoC, in violation to the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since 2003. We sympathize and condole with the bereaved families on loss of loved ones and valuable lives especially the bereaved families of four innocent and poor masons who were unlawfully arrested /kidnapped by the Indian Army on the Machal sector, Neelum Valley (AJK/Pakistan Administered Kashmir) while collecting natural herbs on July 10, 2013. Thereafter, these innocent were brutally killed by the Indian Army and their dead bodies were handed over to the Police Department of Indian Administered Kashmir. The unfortunate persons were arrested/kidnapped and then unlawfully killed by Indian Army are Zeeshan, Shabzaman, Faisal Iqbal and Wajid.
We urge the Government of India to hand over the dead bodies of these innocent persons back to Azad Kashmir so that their dead bodies can be buried by their bereaved families in accordance with the rituals of Islam.
