Stop the change to single parents going onto newstart allowance

As a single parent, we need assistance in raising our children. Newstart is for unemployed people, yet a lot of working single parents are being forced to go onto newstart payments which is a considerable loss of money to lose.

I FEEL THAT THIS CHANGE IS VERY UNFAIR, I AM A SINGLE FATHER AND WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE THE HELP THAT I NEEDED UNTIL MY DAUGHTER TURNED 16, WHY SHOULD NOT THESE SINGLE MOTHERS AND FATHERS HAVE THE SAME AS I HAD AS WELL AS OTHERS HAD. THE GOVERNMENT MUST PROVIDE JOBS FOR EVERY SINGLE PARENT IF THESE CUTS ARE GOING TO STAY. AND IF THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT PROVIDE JOBS TO THESE SINGLE PARENTS , THEN THE WHOLE THING MUST BE SCRAPED A.S.A.P

Because I have friends who are affected by this. Honest single mothers who are striving, and struggling, to raise their children in an environment that is conducive to helping a child growing up in this day and age be the very best they can be, with the full love and support of their single parents.

Because the Government can't figure out how to make a super-profits mining tax work (allowing some companies to gain tax-credits) they feel like they can hit single parents? Sounds like awful planning to me.

As a single person, with no dependants I find it hard working fulltime and trying to get by, covering the run of the mill expenses of food, rent, bills and medical. I cannot begin to fathom, how you as a Government whose job is first and foremost to look after it's population through the distribution of our taxes, could seek to handicap single-parents in these tough times. Parenting is in itself a fulltime job, nevermind working and having the funds literally decreased out of one's pockets.
