Civility Pledge (This is a pledge we provide to all our supporters.  It is entirely voluntary. Many have printed out the pledge, signed it, framed it, and placed it in a place of prominence in their offices. If you have questions about any part of the pledge please feel free to ask.  The text comes from our book: Bring a Dish to Pass: The Civil Action of Community Improvement.  Copies can be acquired from our website--www.civilitycenter.org)

In all of my daily interactions I pledge to do my best to:

*View everyone in positive terms
*Work on building common language
*Build strong relationships of trust
*Remember our shared humanity
*Value both the process and the results
*Look both inside and outside for guidance.

Through this pledge I acknowledge that:“Everyone has the right and the responsibility to improve his or her community, and if we all work together—in a well planned way, addressing the factors that affect all of our lives—we can make a difference for all families.  As members of society, we are all resources and agents of change.”

To have your own certificate of this pledge which can be printed, framed, and displayed, please go to: http://www.civilitycenter.org/documents/pledgecert.pdf
In addition, our goal is to have 1 million people download, sign, frame, and display this pledge.  Please pass it one to everyone you know who might be of a like mind in this matter.  To support our International Campaign for Civility we are asking all who sign to consider making a small donation to the National Civility Center ($1 to $10).  This can be done at www.civilitycenter.org or through the National Civility Center on www.change.org.

Thanks

Jay

If not we who will improve the quality of life in our community. In my neighbourhood we, women of my age and older, volunteer spring cleaning, planting trees and making flower beds. We share books, clothes, toys with the needy. And we look for the order in out apartment blocks.
