    • We, the undersigned citizens of Pakistan, and our friends from around the world, of all faiths and none, share our grief and sorrow with fellow Pakistanis who have been targeted by criminals, mobs and individuals on the grounds of faith.

Given the internal and external pressures that the state and nation of Pakistan are under and the state of law and order situation in Pakistan, we are all vulnerable. However, those of us under attack for their faith are doubly vulnerable as they have to deal with the added burden of being targeted for their religious convictions.

Of course it is the state's responsibility to provide security to its citizens. However, all citizens of Pakistan also have a responsibility, and that is to stand up and be counted in solidarity, to speak out for those who are thus vulnerable, offer our support and share in the grief and sorrow of our fellow citizens.

In that spirit, we the undersigned extend our sincerest apologies to those who have been targeted and persecuted for their faith. This includes most recently the Christian community, whose church and school were torched, and their holy Book desecrated, by armed criminals purporting to act for the honour of the holy Prophet of Islam, upon whom be peace. The burning of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mardan has come on the heels of a long history of attacks on institutions, communities and individuals on the pretext of differences in faith.

We reject any and all illegal and criminal actions even, or especially, if they are committed in the name of religion. The respect of, as well as the security and safety of all the diverse communities of Pakistan is our common trust, and we stand united in solidarity with all our communities.

Because I do not like to see my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus being persecuted for their faith. They should be aloud to share their faith with others. I also care about people in general. We are all human beings and need to show love to one another.
