Stop West Bengal Officials from Promoting Cow Slaughter, Violating Supreme Court Judgement, Suppressing Durga Puja Festival

This is an urgent petition, requesting the Government of West Bengal (Paschim Banga), India  to Ensure 100% Enforcement of Anti-Cow Slaughter Judgements of the Honourable Kolkata HC and Supreme Court of India in Each and Every district (including Kolkata and Howrah City).

We urge the Honourable Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee to take strong action against the errant Officers-in-Charge of all Police Stations, in ALL Districts (including Kolkata and Howrah City), who are Promoting Cow Slaughter (to pander to extremist Jihadi elements) and are thereby openly violating the Honorable Kolkata High Court's Judgement (dated 2 Nov 2011 and 13 Oct 2011) and Honourable Indian Supreme Court's Judgement.

We urge the Honourable Chief Secretary and Honourable Home Secretary to investigate the atrocities being committed by the aforementioned police officers and their fanatic Jihadi bribemasters on those millions of Bengali villagers who refuse to kowtow to their dictatorial, unlawful demands that they support and make arrangements for slaughtering of cows on Bakr Eid (which falls on October 15 and 16, 2013 – during Durga Puja festival's immersion dates).

We also urge the West Bengal Administration to stop the official repression of the state’s ancient and vibrant Durga Puja by revoking the ban on the Divine Mother’s immersion on October 15 and 16, 2013.

We would like to respectfully remind the administration that banning the centuries’ old indigenous Bengali tradition of Durga Puja immersion (in order to appease a violent, alien, Arabian creed of Bakr Eid) is tantamount to turning Bengal (or what is left of it) into another East Pakistan.

Thanks to your 1500+ signatures received prior to November 7, 2011, the Howrah police was compelled to act against animal rights violations. In atleast 3 locations in Howrah, eye-witnesses report that the police prevented the slaughtering of cows. In many other locations of West Bengal state (where Howrah is located), the local citizenry and animal rights activists, who were emboldened by your support, stopped this carnage. The media reported that 9000 cows have been rescued from illegal slaughter houses in West Bengal in 2011. But this battle has only just begun. The errant Howrah police officer has NOT been fired. So, going forward, we will keep this petition open to get more signatures to prevent this recurrence of this widespread cow-slaughter and to stop this animal cruelty in 2012. Here is a video showing vigilant animal rights activists in action in Kolkata city (the capital of West Bengal state), which is close to Howrah:

For us Cow is go Mata ie. mother how would one feel if one's mother is slaughtered to eat also. this hurts our emotions and sentiments not only that but also this questions our integrity and morale and grounding of our existence who we are. I guess words are not enough but this has to be stopped and also as proved in 2005 supreme court pil, economically also killing is loss only. Moreover in ISLAM it is not mentioned anywhere to slaughter a cow this is being done here only to humiliate that we can not save our own culture in our own country.

All animals are sentient & feel fear & pain in the same way humans do. Therefore how can you justify allowing this to continue? It is NOT acceptable in this day & age & needs stopping NOW!!!

"Life is life's greatest gift. Guard the life of another creature as you would your own because it is your own. On life's scale of values, the smallest is no less precious to the creature who owns it than the largest."

      -- Lloyd Biggle Jr.

I don't hold animals superior or even equal to humans. The whole case for behaving decently to animals rests on the fact that we are the superior species. We are the species uniquely capable of imagination, rationality, and moral choice - and that is precisely why we are under an obligation to recognize and respect the rights of animals.
