Stop the unnecessary slaughter and torture of Calderon dolphins in the Faroe Islands

Every year, hundreds of young adults participate in the massacre of hundreds of Calderon dolphins (Pilot whales) as a rite-of-passage, to show that they are adults and mature. On the contrary, this does not show their maturity, it shows their cruelty towards animals. These cruel humans hack off the flesh of living Calderon dolphins and watch them cry out in agony while they die a slow, painful death. Something must be done to stop this cruelty towards an intelligent species of animal, the Calderon dolphins. We must demand that the Government of Denmark and/or the Government of the Faroe Islands pass a law that prevents this cruel massacre.

Wow, I would have never imagined this petition reaching 2000 signatures! Thank you so much for your support of this petition. I have added the Minister of Fisheries of the Faroe Islands to the petition, extended the end date of the petition to the end of the year, and have changed our goal to 50,000 signatures (a little over the current population of the Faroe Islands). Please continue to talk about this issue with family and friends, and please spread the word about this petition on social neyworking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and also by email. We still have a little more work to do to end this violation of animal rights. Thanks again for all of your support!

This is a very barbaric, inhumane way for a supposedly civilized nation to (mis)behave in the 21st century. Time to come up to date now, please, Denmark.

That is animal cruelty and these poor animals are innocent. These people shouldn't be killing these dolphins just for fun that's horrible. We should make an end to this. We're the calderon dolphins voices..if we don't speak up for them who will?
