Tell the truth about Connecticut's vote.

Movies are a powerful source of knowledge - especially when they claim, as "Lincoln" does, to be based on history. Spielberg deliberately misrepresented history by having Connecticut's two senators vote against the 13th Amendment even though one of them, Lyman Trumbull, was co-author of the amendment. Now Spielberg plans to distribute "Lincoln" to schools. He cannot claim it is only entertainment. Whom will schoolchildren believe, their textbooks or the movie?

It is wrong to misrepresent history this way.

Connecticut's students should know the truth.

I was born and raised in Connecticut and feel that the movie should more accurate and reflect the fact that the two senators voted for the amendment. Let's not distort history.

There is far too much misinformation going around about who felt what way about which position in history; This does an unnecessary and unfair harm to the state and its people. To perpetrate a lie simply to expedite a scene in a movie is deceitful and should be beneath Mr. Spielberg. Maybe I should make a movie stating that in the 1930's and 1940's every single movie producer in Hollywood, to a man, supported what Hitler was doing in Europe!

Don't be stupid; fix it and do it right away!

It's too big a distortion to remain.
