Legalize Marijuana in Georgia

If Georgia takes the first steps in legalizing marijuana or decriminalizing it then the number of people in our jails and prison system would decrease as well as violence in relation to the drug war. Mexico would lose much of their profits from trafficking marijuana into the United States illegally. Our country would have another cash crop and could properly study it.

Hello everyone! I would like to thank you all for signing this petition and joining me on the journey to legalization. As many of you may know there have been multiple states that voted to decriminalize Cannabis , Vermont being the most recent. I would like to direct everyone to a website that have already established a firm representation for the Legalization of Cannabis in Georgia. http://www.gacareproject.com/ is a website devoted to the education, access, and reform of marijuana laws in our country but more specifically Georgia. Please spread the word and help us achieve our goals!

If this petition gets a few thousand signatures then I will go through the proper outlets such as the news and through our state Reps. I will personally advocate and promote this as it needs to be done. Our country is changing and being one of the first states to take the steps necessary would greatly benefit us.

because marijuana helps people who are sick with certain diseases and people who suffer from stress depressions and suicides its not the marijuana that's bad its the people that abuse it and marijuana is not a drug it is clearly a plant grown from the earth and nourished and drug has to be mixed with other chemicals marijuana is organic as I should say because its a natural herb that grows from the earth for a purpose if it wasn't meant to be used why do certain doctors prescribe it

I believe that cannabis is one of the most versatile plants on the planet and that many medical, agricultural, and even economical problems can be treated or solved using cannabis. If nothing else, I would like to see it available to chemo patients and epilepsy sufferers.

Hello, I was injured at work April 2010.

I went thru all conservative treatments but had a fusion at L4/5.

I have chronic back pain, nerve damage in my left leg and foot.

Pain management doctors want to prescribe very strong, addictive narcotics.

I am 42 and stopped taking all narcotics, I cannot take them for 30 years or more.

My injuries are permanent and get worse over time.

Medicinal Marjihuana would decrease my nerve and back pain and is not addictive.

Why OxyContin and morphine are legal for people with chronic pain and marijuana is not baffles me. One is man made, highly addictive, clouds your thinking and damages my liver

Marijuana is natural, is not addictive and cannot damage my liver.

It also suppresses nausea caused by all the prescriptions drugs I am prescribed.

I think marijuana should be legal as a medicine because it can help treat people in chronic pain, cancer patients, etc

I am unsure of recreational use. It would have to be regulated just like alcohol.

My family and I are looking at plans to leave GA and move to a state that recognizes marijuana is a safe alternative to man made narcotics.
