At the moment we're waiting for Evans's appeal to go through the courts. The unofficial line from the PFA, via the medium of Clarke Carlisle's twitter account, is that having a convicted felon on the honours list is "wrong on everyone's moral compass". Clarke Carlisle also pointed out that as a professional trade union, they have a duty to the player and to remove him from the list at this point could be read as an admission of guilt and thus they won't be doing so until the result of the appeal.
I have written an e-mail to Gordon Taylor asking him to make an official statement on this and been in touch with the offices of the PFA to put the request to Taylor myself. So far no joy! Over the next week we will be contacting the PFA at regular intervals to get a response from them.
Whilst this is going on, please keep the ball rolling and the petition growing - it would be great to get to 25,000 and we're so close!
Once again, thanks for your support.
