The Anti-Bullying Act is designated to support Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week in Schools and to provide for bullying prevention curricula, policies and administrative accountability in schools

The United States have passed Anti-Bullying bills in many of their states and it's time that Ontario also takes action against this form of abuse. School bullying statistics and cyber bullying statistics show the 77% of students are bullied mentally, verbally and physically. Suicide due to bullying is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year. For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it. This needs to be addressed on a government-level. Dalton McGuinty supports the bill, however action is not being taken fast enough. With all this being said, we need to get BIll 14, the Anti-Bullying Bill passed immediately and we can really use your support.

As a child in the 1970's and 80's I bullied horribly. My children are 11 and 13 right now. I have had to take matters into my own hands and contact the school when something happens. I know the signs a child exhibits as I went through it. Lucky for me my children know I will always stand up for them, no matter how hard I have to push. That old saying "If u tell someone you will get it worse". I reply your going to be bullied anyways. This helped me come up for a slogan for them. 'BULLYS CAN ONLY BE BULLYS IN SECRET'. Because of this slogan they understand they have to tell. My phone is 705-527-5903. I would love to help

Because bullying is a serious problem in our schools, and it's about time the government intervenes and puts a stop to this madness.
