Do Not Relocate State Route 32 Through Mariemont or its South 80 Park

    1. Petition by

      Mariemont Community Partnership Committee

Mariemont has been named one of the 11 Most Endangered Places in America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation!

Please contact ODOT and the Eastern Corridor Implementation partners and inform them that relocating SR32 through the Village is not a good decision.  http://easterncorridor.org/contact-us/contact/

Mariemont opposes this route for the following reasons;
-Destabilization of nearby hillsides
- Possible loss of National Historic Landmark Designation
- Destruction of Native American Archeological Site
- Negative environmental impact on Park and nature area
- Flawed analysis of alternative routes
- Significant reduction in Mariemont Park space
- Increased air, noise, and water pollution to people of Mariemont
- Non conformance with land use guidelines
- Significant public funds being wasted continuing to pursue this option for Route 32 relocation.

      Haven driven through the shade covered streets in the middle of June, I can see a wonderful example of planning and design, so much so its principles are expressed in many "modern" sustainable guidelines.

      Completion of this project would effectively ruin the historic areas of Mariemont and Newtown and lessen their "livability".

      My dogs and I love using the South 80 park. It's beautiful and peaceful and a place of great fellowship. Please don't take that away.

      It will destroy the beauty and serenity of the area.

      There is no REAL evidence of a need for this highway, and in the process of its building, entire communities would be devastated while also disrupting archaeological, historical and ecological resources that have national implications.
