As a life long resident of Long Beach, especially one who lives in the West End, I object to the 7-11. I am sure cars will be barreling down Michigan street after they go to the store! Littering on the corner, and noise and traffice 24/7. We are a unique sleepy town. We have been able to preserve the West End for years now, trying to keep it small mom and pop stores, keeping it 'small town'. What do you think attracts people here? The quaintness, the community feeling here. You want a 7-11? Go put one on Austin Blvd, commercial property! Maybe turn the Stone Turtle into TGIF, but leave our West End, small town feeling alone

It will take away Long Beach charm and bring more crowds with no parking to accomodate them.

We already have soooo many quality of life issues and our beautiful quaint beach neighborhood is being destroyed because our city council does not care about our small businesses EXCEPT THE BARS ON IRISH DAY!!! Which makes no sense!!! We need to video tape/photograph our quality of life issues and send it into Newsday and News12 !!! If our own city council won't listen to us them maybe the rest of Long Island and New York will through mass media !!!!

A great deal of the charm of the West End comes from the string of independant, locally owned shops, restaurants and services. In addition to the additional traffic woes that would occur as a result, both businesses cater to potentially unhealthy eating/ dining habits. Especially given the proximity of the proposed 7-11 to the elementary school.
