The huge environmental destruction, anticipated health problems, damage to the air and water quality and lives of Kamloops citizens mean it must not be allowed to proceed.

To:
The Honourable Christy Clark, Premier of British Columbia
Kamloops City Council, Mayor Peter Milobar
MLA: HON. DR. TERRY LAKE, KAMLOOPS-NORTH THOMPSON BC MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT
MLA: KEVIN KRUEGER, KAMLOOPS-SOUTH THOMPSON
MP: HON. PETER KENT, FEDERAL MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT
MP: CATHY MCLEOD, KAMLOOPS-THOMPSON-CARIBOO
Please represent this City and oppose the development of the AJAX mine. It is essential for the lives of children and families that you take every option available to stop its development. You will be partially responsible for the expected decline in the health of our children unless you take a strong stand against the mine and in favor of our citizens...

Sincerely,
[Your name]

When local doctors say that they are considering leaving Kamloops if the Ajax Mine proceeds, this tells me that the proposed location is a bad idea. We are already having enough trouble getting a sufficient number of doctors to provide GP...

The culture is just starting to improve, why turn it back around? Job totals are negligible as compared to the population and the majority of economic benefits wont be felt by your average citizen. Oh and there's the environment...

I believe the proposed Ajax development likely represents the most significant and irreversible development in the history of Kamloops. Much of the technical information indicates the clear potential of significant detrimental health eff...

We are planning to submit our EA Application for review by the Environmental Assessment Office in B.C. before the end of September. The answers the community has been waiting for will be available at that time.

In the meantime, we are still working through our project validation process and are in the midst of evaluating options in order to make technical and operational decisions to ensure the community is protected. Drilling and testing work at site is ongoing in support of this process.

After we submit our EA Application, the project will enter a 180 day review period by the regulatory bodies. During the 180 day period there will be a comment period and open houses where the community can gather more information. There will also be opportunity to ask questions and share comments with the EAO and the company.

If everything goes according to schedule we expect to begin production in the Fall of 2016.

I moved my family here to experience the great outdoors. I don't want the dust, noise and pollution of a mine in town and this type of mine scars the earth!
