Google Reader is shutting down.

There are several petitions that are alive and well that have accumulated thousands of signatures. These petitions have a simple request: bring Google Reader back to Google!

But the truth of the matter is that Google isn't going to bring it back.

So Google, how about handing the reins of Google Reader over to someone else?

Just because this petition surfaced a day after the news broke (and you signed the other petitions) doesn't mean you should neglect it. Google is NOT going to bring back Google Reader to Google.com, so the earlier petitions are useless. This petition serves a different purpose: to let someone else run it. I volunteer.

To:

Save Google Reader -- by giving it to someone else.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

I've been using google reader for as long as I can remember, and I have apps on my phone and computer that sync up with it so I never have to see the same article twice. It's extremely useful and I haven't found a site that does the same thing the same way since I heard it was being shut down… Why close it when so many people use it? Not like it's costing them anything and if I'm wrong about that then it can't cost much.
