Apologize on air for sympathizing with the Steubenville rapists.

That CNN decided to paint the tears of the convicted Steubenville rapists in a sympathetic light and say how their lives were ruined — while completely ignoring the fact that the rape victim's life is the one whose life was ruined by these rapists' actions — is disgusting and helps perpetuate a shameful culture in which young people never understand the concept of consent and in which rape victims are blamed and ostracized. Changing that culture must be done brick by brick, and it can start by heaping public shame on this major cable news network and forcing them to admit that they are wrong. Publicly.

Reno Saccoccia, the Steubenville football coach, may very well have been involved in the attempted coverup of the rape and cannot be allowed to keep his job. http://www.change.org/petitions/the-steubenville-district-school-board-remove-reno-saccoccia-from-his-position-at-steubenville-high-school

I am so glad to see that we're well over 200,000 and not slowing down! A couple of things, though: Does anyone have the actual direct email addresses of the relevant CNN personalities (e.g. Candy Crowley, Poppy Harlow, Paul Callan and higher-ups like Jeff Zucker)? If so, please private message me with those so this petition can reach them more directly. Also, feel free to go ahead and flood CNN's general email with news of this petition or other such warm greetings here: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/show/?s=generalcomments&hdln=4

Sorry excuses of people -such as those on CNN- who sympathize with rapists should not be allowed to speak to thousands of people; especially with credentials as questionable as theirs. Journalism is about the truth, not exploiting the red, white and blue, slut who cried rape -which actually happened in this case- in order to justify two messed up little boys in heat. It makes me wonder what company they mailed boxtops into for the degrees in communications.

I don't care how young these boys are, violence is NEVER ok. If they did the crime they have to suffer the consequences. What kind of men would they become if they were not held accountable? They're lives may be rough for awhile, but her's will NEVER be the same.

My mother was raped when she was a child and then her rapist tried to kill her by stabbing her in the chest. The perpetrator got nothing more than a slap on the hand and then the family hushed it up (it was one of her uncles). She still has nightmares and flashbacks about it.

The rspists gave this girl and themselves a life sentence. They deserve their consequences and sympathizing with them only furthers the victimization of rape victims.
