Responsible dog owners are targeted under Breed Specific Legislation. Here are some problems that responsible owners run into when BSL is in motion. The added restrictions are simply unaffordable! Responsible owners already invest a lot of money into the health and happiness of their dogs. Irresponsible owners don't follow Breed Specific Legislation. They don't care. They see their dogs as disposable and ignore the law. This is where Vicious Dog legislation and Responsible Owner legislation is the way the City needs to address the guilty and problem issues that come from vicious dogs and irresponsible owners. Due to BSL thousands of guiltless dogs die in kill shelters every year. Thousands of guiltless dogs are torn from their families, and at what cost? The owners suffer, the children suffer, and the dogs suffer. It has been proven that breed specific legislation does not work! We request the City of Troy, Missouri to CHANGE!

Breed specific legislation is not the correct course of action with regards to what the media incorrectly labels "dangerous breeds". Put Bulls and all other needs so labeled and thier families are being descriminated against because of the uneducated masses prejudice based on unfair stereotypes propogated by an even more uneducated media. Pit bulls and like breeds are the furthest thing from aggressive, as any pit owner will tell you. Pits are more affectionate than nearly all other medium sized breed and the fault of any pretty less on the owner, not the breed.

      2 words. Alice Marie.

6 months old. Quarter labrador, quarter Bull mastiff, and half viscious homicidal monster. I mean pit bull. Yeah. the first description is what my landlord of 5 months told me today. No problems before. But now. Nope. Alice is a "som'bitch" that "needs to go" .

Blame the Human not the breed. through time it was the German Shepard, then the Doberman, next the Rottweiler, now the APBT. When it be bad dog owners time to take the blame???????

I have had LARGE breed dogs all my life and helped with several dog rescue groups, it was NEVER a Pitt, G. Shepherd, Rottweiler, Doberman that EVER bit me...It was the little dachshunds, chihuahuas, pomeranians, etc. and I STILL have the scars to prove it. It is NOT the breed, much less a big size dog!
