Unfortunately there was nothing that we could do to save the tree as the construction workers had damaged the root system so badly that they had to take it down because it was now a safety hazzard. thank you all who signed!

Developers need to learn to respect and work *with* features of the existing landscape (particularly mature trees, which take so long to replace) rather than erase and re-install a completely new landscape for convenience or profit.

If the trees is not sick then it should be allowed to live out its life and do what it was meant to do, be a house for birds and other animals and well as a filer and oxygen provider for us. Dont kill this tree. Trim it to make certain it says healty. Right now we need to save all the trees we can since so many have gotten sick and are being cut down

Because trees are an expression of true beauty and generousity on this planet - they need to be respected and loved.

Trees do not have a voice to speak for themselves, I feel very strongly that we have to speak for the trees. They provide homes, shelter, shade, air, beauty (to the ever growing cement skyline)...it is time to start respecting and honouring trees again...before it's too late! Every single one counts.

As a former Aylmer Avenue resident, now living on forested and cleared land, I am acutely aware of how the balance of urban/country must be maintained. We have a few Oak Trees over 500 years old! These beauties never cease to inspire me. Keep the balance; enjoy the harmony!!
