AB 1213 introduced to ban trapping and commercial trade in bobcats in CA
Great news for our cause this past week! Project Bobcat's friends at the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) through Richard Bloom (CA State Assembly (D), District 50, Santa Monica) have introduced a new bill that would, if passed, ban the trapping and commercial trade in bobcats in California.
To get more information on the bill and to sign up for updates, go to http://www.legislature.ca.gov/port-bilinfo.html and type in 1213, which is the bill number (AB 1213). Getting the bill introduced is an important first step, but getting it passed will be significantly harder. We will be organizing a letter campaign in the coming weeks at projectbobcat.org to gain support for this bill. Please sign-up for Action Alerts at our site to be kept in the loop on how bill progresses.
