Ask the UK Government to Keep Its Promise on Aid

Overseas aid could soon subject millions more children to homework. In fact from 2011 to 2015 16 million extra children could be in school if the UK government keeps its promise to spend 0.7% of national income on aid.

But this pledge is under attack. The real scandal would be if the UK, one of the richest countries in the world, turned its back on people living in extreme poverty.

For decades, campaigners like you have been pushing our government to keep their promise to spend less than 1p in every pound on aid. Amazingly, we could see this become a reality with just one more push.

When the Chancellor, George Osborne, announces the UK Budget on the 20th March, we want to see this promise enshrined in law. And in the next few weeks, we really need MPs to publicly support this.

You can do something to help right now by signing a letter to your MP, asking them to encourage the Chancellor to make us proud.
