Maintain the current definition of Autism

    1. Petition by

      The Aspie Side of Life

Under the proposed changes many will lose necessary services. The argument for doing this is that there are not systems in place to support the increased need of people that meet the current diagnosis. The individuals that will no longer qualify for services will still need the services but will not qualify to recieve them.  Due to the lack of services this will prevent them from living up to their full potential.  Please sign this position to show that you do not agree with these changes.

Aspergers should stay a stand alone dx. There are huge differences between classic autism, and to combine them all would do nothing but confuse everyone, and leave other between the cracks. This was all based on money in the end.

I have a beautiful neice who is talented in drawing and is smart beyond belief. The services she is able to receive through her school will help her be more successful in the brutal world that we call society.

my son has aspergers, it took many years to get his diagnosis and get the help he needed, the delay cost him his education and has left him anxious and prone to panic attacks among other personal things ...to eliminate the existence of aspergers as a condition is totally unacceptable and will cause so much hardship and pain. also seeing as England copy everything America do it wont be long before it happens here too if this ridiculous decision is upheld !!!!!!!

My son has Aspergers and I wouldn't want that he would lose what little services that he does get.
