Save Net Neutrality
Net neutrality preserves the right to communicate freely on the internet. Net neutrality requires internet service providers (ISPs) to give everyone equal access to everything you use on the internet-- email, watching videos, reading news articles, and listening to music. It prohibits ISPs from slowing down, speeding up, or blocking content on the internet. It is how the internet has always worked. Unfortunately, this is being threatened by the FCC- the Federal Communications Commission. If the FCC ends net neutrality, then how we’ve used the internet changes completely. ISPs will be able to block content, slow down internet access, and favor websites over others. It will also end the Title II of the Communications Act, which charges ISPs for blocking content or slowing down internet and creating “fast lanes.” “Fast lanes” would allow certain internet service providers to give internet access faster than any other service providers. Ending net neutrality could have global impacts and change the way the world shares information and changes how information is processed. As high school seniors about to enter into the real world, we cannot imagine what life would be like if we did not have net neutrality. Net neutrality allows us to use our freedom of speech on a platform that is like no other. I can go on the internet and research something without the fear that an ISP has favored a certain website that is completely biased one way or blocked certain websites. If you believe we should have free access to the internet, sign this petition to show your support. This issue is time sensitive and must be addressed. Support free and open internet! Thank you for your support, Katie Lemon

We are fighting to keep hemp derived CBD products legal to sell, purchase and possess in the state of Ohio outside of the state's medical marijuana program. Helping thousands of business selling or carrying hemp based CBD products across the state of Ohio keep their doors open, lights on and food on their table. By Signing this petition you will help: Keep Hemp based CBD products legal in Ohio Support locally owned CBD businesses in Ohio Support the freedom of choice in Ohio commerce Why this is so important: Hundreds, if not thousands of businesses and jobs are at stake Your favorite CBD products could go away The state of Ohio is in violation of the 2014 Farm Bill Background: The Ohio CBD Movement coalition was formed by Clean Remedies CBD, to bring CBD companies, users and advocates together to urge the state of Ohio to redefine the hemp CBD laws and make it assessable to all. The state does not have a defined distinction between CBD derived from industrial hemp and CBD derived from marijuana. In August the Ohio Board of Pharmacy released a statement claiming that the sale and possession of CBD products, regardless if they are derived from hemp or marijuana or considered illegal as "defined" by the States medical marijuana program. However said program does not have a distinction between hemp derived CBD or marijuana derived CBD. Fore more information go to: ohiocbdmovement.org cleanremedies.com
Remove sub-Asian boxes on Census Form 2020! Stop racist anti-Asian anti-immigrant legacy!
Dear fellow Americans for justice, brothers and sisters against racism, The glaringly racist legacy of sub-Asian boxes on the Census form was started in 1870, after the Burlingame Treaty of 1868, which eventually led to the infamous, racist, and inhumane Chinese Exclusion Act spanning from 1882 to 1943, which among other terrible abominations, banned U.S. residents of Chinese descent from having children or getting married; their family members in Asia were forbidden from entry to U.S. and reuniting as families. The Census form has no "Asian/Asian American" category. In its place are a group of boxes signifying foreign nationalities in Asia as if Asian Americans were all “perpetual foreigners.” It intrusively identified and collected data on which U.S. residents were of Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese...descent. While the Chinese Exclusion Act ended in 1943, did these racist, humiliating, dehumanizing sub-Asian boxes get removed from the Census form? No, they were kept on the Census form by the U.S. government even until today, and if we don't fight back and boycott the Census form with sub-Asian boxes, it will stay on the 2020 Census form and beyond, prolonging a racist American legacy, a shame to all Americans. This legacy treats Americans of Asian descent as perpetual foreigners, and collects intrusive personal ancestral origin data used in many kinds of racial discrimination and persecution. In one example, the U.S. government used information from the Census Bureau to identify native born Americans of Japanese descent and sent them to Internment Camps during the World War II. There were also discriminatory laws against Americans of various Asian descent, such as Filipino. Such horrendous trampling of humanity will happen again unless you and I act now to boycott a 2020 Census form with sub-Asian boxes. We demand these sub-Asian boxes be removed and replaced with one description--"Asian/Asian American." Injustice to one human being is injustice to all human kind. If we don't stop this racist and anti-immigrant legacy, its “logic” and mentality will be repeated in current and future policy-making. Let's keep fighting against racism and improve the human condition step by step. Please join the good fight to make this historically significant change happen for now and forever, by signing this petition and sharing it on social media and by email, word of mouth. Power to the people! Fighting on, Americans against racism and anti-Asian anti-immigrant legacy
Harsher punishment for dog meat trade offenders in Yulin,China.
My petition is based upon actions that have been newly made known. Mr Mo Gong Ming in Yulin has recently stated the ban to be imposed on June 15th 2017 for the period during the dog meat festival which is based upon solice (a period in which Yulin consumes dog meat and cat as well). He put into effect the ban during that time, but only for that time period. There still would be other days throughout the year in which they will have no ban imposed. We need to push Yulin officials to follow Taiwan which has signed a ban on eating dog and cats. The ban has very limited punishment for an individual that would be caught delivering dogs or cats. And only with support can we push for the ban to become a law and a full ban decision to outlaw consuming cats and dogs. Previously it was $17 per truck and offender....which as we see is simply not enough punishment... Now it has changed to $100 per truck and offender. If we really look at that, that is simply still not enough...which may be a reason as to why their citizens are still committing these barbaric acts upon animal companions...torturing of dogs and cats before they are boiled alive because they saw the meat tastes better...or torching their fur off for that burnt smell. If we can push harsher punishment for offenders as well as a FULL in EFFECT ban of consuming meat from their officials can we start to do this. They say that the people want to eat meat and what can we do...that's an officials actual response. What can be done is harsher ground rules for punishment on these offenders instead of a ticket and let them be on their journey.. That didn't stop the slaughter of those dogs and cats on that truck. They should take the dogs and cats and seize the offender at that time. The reported decision initiated to ban the sale of dog meat during the event, shows that they are taking critical steps to curb animal cruelty during this time and to correct an historical wrong. Only by ending the mess slaughter and consumption of dogs and cats, can Yulin be transformed into a centre of culture and civilization. This ban is a commendable step for dogs, and I hope that Yulin officials will continue to take further steps to protect companion animals by including cats under the order too, and making it a permanent prohibition. I would love to see this temporary ban break the ground for an end to the Yulin Dog Meat Festival and inspire transformational change across Asia to end the dog meat trade for good. I respectfully urge these changes: 1. Permanently ban dog and cat meat trade in Yulin; 2. Strengthen food safety law enforcement; 3. Penalize inbound dog trucks without proper documents;seize all animals on board 4. Shut down dog slaughter operations inside Yulin; 5. Build a government facility to accommodate confiscated dogs and cats; and 6. End dog and cat meat consumption in Yulin 7. Push harsher punishment for offenders; and for repeat offenders even more harsher punishment. We need to urge this ban. If not millions of dogsdogs and cats will be killed for meat. It is not a tradition or spiritual journey as some China citizens have said. Some say its for prohit when asking their beliefs. Some completely disagree. Please take a stand with me to show Yulin how you agree there needs to be stronger punishment and a FULL ban in effect. Thank You Crystal Lee Animal Activist/ PETA First Responder
