Make Melania Trump stay in the White House or pay for the expenses herself

The U.S. taxpayer is paying an exorbitant amount of money to protect the First Lady in Trump Tower, located in New York City. As to help relieve the national debt, this expense yields no positive results for the nation and should be cut from being funded.

Allow Transgender People Into the U.S. Military

On Wednesday, July 26, 2017, Donald Trump announced that transgender individuals would no longer be accepted or allowed into the U.S. Military because their cost is a "burden." This is extremely disgraceful and an insult to all those who have already given their lives for this country. This is not equality, and this is not "supporting the LGBT community," as he said he does. This is utterly transphobic. Many people who served are going to be left jobless, and many others will no longer be able to fulfill their dreams. This is not okay, and this should not be legal. Trans people are still people.

Postpone Electoral College Vote and Inauguration, Pending Investigation

Given the news that Russia meddled in our American election, whether or not with the express purpose of electing Trump, that affects the validity of the election!  I am hoping we can nullify the election results, and postpone the Electoral College vote and inauguration until Congress can act upon determining a valid President-elect.

Help save mom's home!

Three generations of our family have lived in our mother’s home. She has been living there for over 50 years and her favorite part is her yard, which she has lovingly tended to ever since we can remember.  Mom is an 85-year-old, a breast cancer survivor, with Alzheimer's Disease. Her home has always been one of the most meaningful parts of her life. It is all about to be taken away. Our mother is one of many Wells Fargo predatory lending victims. Mom was living alone when Wells Fargo approached her and interviewed her for a number of loan applications. Despite being elderly and living on a fixed Social Security income, they gave her two mortgage loans. When she was about to default on one, they issued a third. How could Wells Fargo give her loans that they knew she couldn’t possibly afford? Our mother had no idea she was trapped in a predatory lending scheme, the type that Wells Fargo has been found guilty of doing time and time again. By the time we realized how much trouble mom was in, it was too late to intervene. The statute of limitations for predatory lending had run out and Wells Fargo was on her doorstep coming to collect the house. An attorney for Wells Fargo recently told our family that they, “are not in the business of running a nursing home.”  We have little time to prevent this foreclosure sale from occurring or she will be torn away from her home. This will surely leave her devastated and confused -- a fate she does not deserve. Please sign our petition and tell Wells Fargo to let our mom stay in her beloved home where she belongs.  Thank you!

Impeach Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan has conflicting interest, he has purchased 4 different properties that he has put in his wife's name. Paul Ryan has laid out the plans for oil drilling, the properties are being leased to Exxon Oil.  This is the very company he plans to give the hard earned money the American people have paid into for social safety nets for our future and for our fellow Americans in need.  Paul Ryan has a history of abusing his power, he clearly does not have the interest of the American People, he must be impeached.

Give All Disabled Children Medicaid

ALL DISABLED CHILDREN NEED MEDICAID At 4 months old, my daughter was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy consisting of Spastic Quadraplegia with Dystonia. Now, age 6, my daughter needs Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech Therapy. She is responding very well to therapy.  Like many families that support disabled children, finances are always a struggle. No matter how hard you work, it's never enough to cover as much therapy as you want to give your child. These therapies are the only way our child will be able to be a fully functioning member of society in the future.  The Problem: Medicaid takes the family's income into account when determining eligibility. For those who are neither poor, nor rich, every dollar goes to paying for therapy and equipment. It is a huge, constant struggle on the family and there is NEVER enough money. Every dollar goes to another therapy appt or piece of necessary equipment.  The Resolution: For those in the middle, we do not ask for Disability payments, nor SSI payments. We simply need Medicaid to offset what insurance companies won't pay for — the therapy needed beyond the limits of private insurance, the equipment that insurance companies refuse to cover that is necessary for our children. We beg you to join us in fighting for these minimal benefits for our children to give them a fighting chance, and so they don't have to be on Federal Disability and SSI assistance when they turn 18. Help our disabled children become independent. We ask for ALL disabled children, regardless of family income to be eligible for Medicaid at no cost.

Muscular Dystrophy to be added to the Agent Orange Registry

I a Vietnam Veteran who has served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 through 1969. I was stationed in the  Northern section of South Vietnam in the Quang Tri Province from 1968 to 1969. I was with The 3rd Marine Division. First Battalion. Fourth Regiment. Company D. Delta 1/4.  I started out in 60 mortars as an ammo humper ( carrier). Than assistant A-Gunner. Finally a Right Guide responsible for the ordering of supplies for my Unit or Section.  All during this I was exposed to Agent Orange and didn't even know it. Plus I and probably some of us weren't told about it either.  I drank the water from the streams when it wasn't flown in to us.  By being exposed to Agent Orange it caused my muscles to become weak especially my girdle muscles. These are the muscles that control your arms and legs.  On top of that I have Peripheral Neuropathy along edema and drop feet, and in a motorized powerchair . I have been trying to get the Veterans Affairs Department to Grant me Service Connections Compensation as being caused by aggravation due to be exposed to Agent Orange. I went in whole and came out in pieces and the VA Affairs and the Department of Defense does not want to give my just reward for exposure to Agent Orange. I cannot really enjoy my son or my family because I am constantly battling with the Veterans Affairs Department and they are always rehashing the same old message never looking at new evidence. So I am petitioning those that are in authority to add or include Muscular Dystrophy as being caused by aggravation due to exposure to Agent Orange to the Agent Orange Registry.  Also, it should include Presumptive or Direct Contact or Both plus add even it's heredity. The U.S House and Senate and the Veterans Committees  has the authority to make this petition win. I am encouraging them to approve this petition, and  pass it on to the President for their signature. The Secretary of Veteran's Affairs to would then include Muscular Dystrophy to the Agent Orange Registry. If I lose I will start another petition. I will not and I shall not until I have achieved victory for others who are going through the same ordeal as me. This is not only for alone but also for the countless others who are going through the same ordeal. This is for them as well.

Re-establish the climate change education on EPA website

Prior to President Trump and the appointment of Scott Pruitt as EPA Administrator, there was a entire page on the EPA website dedicated to climate change education. Many students, teachers and parents across the country used the page to learn about climate change and to keep abreast of new scientific data and information. During the Trump Administration, the link to the education site was removed from the EPA web page "for updating" and was never restored (old link here - climate change) In the wake of the devastation caused by the recent Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Harvey, it is more critical than ever, to educate children, communities and families on the impact of global warming and how we can reduce our carbon footprint.  Please TAKE ACTION and SIGN THIS PETITION to get the climate change link back up on the EPA website!

We demand that The United States Senate not confirm Jeff Sessions as Attorney General

As the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, the Attorney General of the United States must be independent of politics and respect the dignity of all Americans. The Attorney General has a duty to enforce the rule of law fairly and pursue equal justice under the law. One of the core functions of the Department of Justice is to protect Americans’ civil rights, and to defend those who have been denied them. Another key function of the Department of Justice is to protect our security, but never sacrifice our civil liberties. Not only has Senator Sessions been a staunch opponent of reforming the tragic shortcomings in our criminal justice system, he holds a number of views that are inconsistent with how most Americans believe justice should be applied under our Constitution.

We Demand that the U. S. Senate not confirm Andrew Puzder as Secretary of Labor

Andrew Puzder is among Trump's more controversial Cabinet picks because he has publicly opposed the overtime rule and various other Department of Labor regulations, and because the fast-food industry, from which Puzder hails, is a top wage-theft enforcement target at the department. Puzder is CEO of CKE Restaurants, which includes Carl’s Jr. and Hardee's. It’s actually very hard to imagine a worse choice for Labor Secretary than Andy Puzder. The Labor Secretary’s job is to look out for American workers. Trump's Labor nominee has opposed increasing the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour and efforts to expand eligibility for overtime pay.   It would be kind of funny if it wasn’t so serious. During the election, Trump made a lot of promises to create good jobs. But he’s filling his cabinet with CEOs and right-wing billionaires who have spent their lives undermining working people’s rights to come together in unions, while fighting minimum wage increases, paid sick leave and family leave policies. The evidence clearly demonstrates that protecting the rights of the people who work at Puzder’s company or its franchisees doesn't seem to be his priority. Puzder has run a business model that has produced widespread labor abuses at the companies. According to data compiled by Bloomberg BNA, over the previous seven years, about 60 percent of all Labor Department investigations of Carl's Jr. Restaurants found violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. While working people at his fast food chains sometimes were making below minimum wage, Puzder was taking big compensation packages. In 2012, he made 291 times as much as workers at his restaurants. Now, he could be in charge of enforcing our nation’s labor laws—from ensuring workplace safety to investigating wage theft.  His companies had the fourth highest incidents of wage theft reported to the government.  ‘Wage theft is a rampant, everyday problem in the fast-food industry: Nearly nine out of 10 fast-food workers across the country report having money stolen from their paychecks by their boss,’ Kendall Fells, the Fight for $15 national organizing director, told Bloomberg BNA via e-mail. Bloomberg reported. “Fells referred to a 2014 poll commissioned by the campaign of more than 1,000 fast-food workers nationwide. The survey documented such common worker complaints as being forced to perform tasks before clocking in or after clocking out, having the cost of uniforms deducted from their paychecks, and not receiving breaks during long shifts.”  Puzder’s Carl’s Jr. restaurant chain also has a history of sexist television. He thinks it’s appropriate to peddle sex to kids if it sells the product. “We believe in putting hot models in our commercials, because ugly ones don’t sell burgers,” said the CEO in a 2011 press release, according to Fortune. “We target hungry guys, and we get young kids that want to be young hungry guys.” Let’s target Puzder’s nomination instead. Just Say No Puzder at Labor. This petition will be delivered to the full Senate and to the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee of the U.S. Senate
