China: Release the 1 Million Uyghurs Detained in Nazi-Style Concentration Camps

China: Release The 1 Million Uyghur Detainees Held Illegally In Nazi-Style Concentration Camps   By  Torchlight Uyghur Group  (Mesheluyghur@gmail.com) www.facebook.com/torchuyghur/  https://twitter.com/torch_uyghur http://blog.freedomsherald.org/ This Petition Is Also Available In The Following Languages: Turkish (Turkçe), German (Deutsch), Japanese (日本語),  Chinese (中文), Traditional Chinese (繁体字), French (Français), Arabic (عربى), Uyghur (ئۇيغۇرچە), Slawyan (Kiril), Russian(Pусский) January 20th, 2018        Many media organizations around the world have recently reported that a large portion of the Uyghur population is being detained either in jails or in so-called “re-education camps” (http://freedomsherald.org/ET/unb/ while their children are being kept in countless orphanages in the East Turkestan.   Recently, we have learned from official sources inside East Turkestan that the number of the Uyghurs currently being held in these Nazi-style political “re-education” concentration camps is more than 800,000.  That is a number known officially inside East Turkestan, but all the unofficial numbers we obtained from various sources exceed one million. According to the 2010 Chinese census, the Uyghur population in East Turkestan was 10,000,370 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang This means that about 10% of the current Uyghur population is locked up.  The conditions of the concentration camps are horrific because of the fact that such a large number of Uyghurs are locked up in relatively small and crowded spaces. We were told by several people who fled China recently that people even cannot lie down during the night with their backs on the floor; instead, they have to sleep sideways with all the adjacent bodies touching one another. We have also learned from some Uyghurs who recently lost their close relatives in the concentration camps that a significant number of Uyghurs are losing their lives in those camps every day. The families of the victims are just receiving their dead bodies from those overcrowded concentration camps. The local authorities are not giving back the bodies of the younger Uyghurs died, instead, just burying them in the nearby empty fields. These are just a few of the many examples of the horrible conditions in these concentration camps.   How did those more than one million people end up in jails, concentration camps and orphanages?  It is extremely difficult to obtain such information in China, but we have managed to get information on some individual cases from the relatives of those victims’ living outside China (The report titled “Political persecution of the Uyghurs – Brief description of some individual cases” at http://freedomsherald.org/ET/unb/ The Uyghurs are one of the ancient peoples living in the heart of Asia. They have a long and proud history, and a rich culture. Throughout the history, the Uyghurs have been a great contributor to the world peace and prosperity.  Due  to their geographical location along the famous Silk Road, they have been a major force in the cultural exchange between the East and the West. We strongly believe that the Uyghurs are an indispensable part of the wider international community and will continue such contribution to the world’s ethnic and cultural diversities in the future. Similarly, the Uyghurs will contribute to the world's peace and prosperity, just as they have done in the past. Therefore, the Uyghurs have every right to live in peace with dignity, and to continuously prosper, as any other nations on the surface of our mother Earth. However, in the recent decades, the Chinese government has banned the Uyghur language from its use at all levels of education in East Turkestan, outlawed Uyghur literature (by banning and burning historical and literature books written in the Uyghur language), restricted, criminalized and attempted to eliminate Uyghurs’ religious belief and practice, and has systematically flooded East Turkestan with Han Chinese migrants in the name of “developing the West”, and thereby marginalized the Uyghurs in their own homeland.  And now the Chinese government is openly killing the Uyghur people, too, in those Nazi-style Chinese concentration camps by implementing a state-sponsored ethnic cleansing policy.  If we don’t get help immediately from the United Nations and from the international community to stop the Chinese government from what they are doing towards the Uyghurs in East Turkestan, the Uyghurs will keep dying and disappearing in large numbers in those Chinese concentration camps (http://www.freedomsherald.org/ET/images/image201801_13.jpg and will soon face an unprecedented threat to their very existence. Therefore, we appeal to all the international communities and human rights organizations not to ignore the Chinese government’s crimes against humanity – the crimes currently being committed against the innocent Uyghur people.  We appeal to the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to demand the Chinese government to release those  1 million Uyghurs, and send investigation teams to East Turkestan and find out: ●      Where are those jails, concentration camps and orphanages? ●      Why and where those one million Uyghurs are being detained? ●      What are they eating and where and how are they sleeping? ●      What are they doing during the day? ●      What are their current health conditions? ●      What are the current death rates among the detainees? ●      What is happening to the children/siblings/parents of the people held in jails and concentration camps?  We, the Uyghurs, are powerless and helpless at the moment.  As such, we cannot defend ourselves against the Chinese government’s atrocities and cannot fight this battle for our survival alone.  We need the support of the global community.  If tens of thousands of people from around the world sign our petition, it may be possible that the United Nations will make a commitment and will act to stop the tragedy that the Uyghur people are facing today.  Please join us in our fight to end the appalling atrocities happening in East Turkestan. Please sign and share this petition. Thank you!  About the Uyghur People and East Turkestan:  East Turkestan is the homeland of the Uyghur people. It has been under the communist China' s occupation since 1949. East Turkestan is located in the Central Asia, and borders China and Mongolia to the east, Russia to the north, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India to the west, and Tibet to the south. The landmass of East Turkestan is bigger than whole Western Europe. Its colonial name is “Xinjiang”, which means "the new territory" or "the new frontier" in Chinese. China officially designated the East Turkestan a Uyghur autonomous region in 1955, but in reality it has never become a genuine autonomous region. The Chinese government reported the number of the Uyghur population in East Turkestan as 10,000,370 (refer to the 2010 Chinese census), but some Uyghur sources estimate the real population of Uyghurs to be around 20 million.

Covid-19 Small Business Finance Relief

Banks had their bail out at the US tax payers expense so now it's the Banking Industries turn to take one for the team.  #TEAMAMERICA Sign this petition in support for your local small business who employ many within your community.  Employees working for companies with less than 50 employees are excluded from the Covid -19 Stimulus Package totalling 8 Billion dollars.  They will not receive  2 weeks sick pay should they need to take off from work.  Why?  Mom and Pop businesses make up over 50% of the nation's companies.  Their workers deserve the same opportunity as their neighbor working for a large corporation. Please show your support for small business.  Ex:  local restaurants, coffee shops,  boutique, beauty salons, all types of shops owners, printing, specialty stores, your dentist, and millions of other service oriented industries and vendors who service closed schools and closed  local governments.  The affect will hit for countless additional industries, like DHL, Federal Express and UPS employees when the demand for deliveries are no longer there.  There are countless more business types affected for unknown reasons that come from our need to social distance in order to help prevent the spread of the virus. Help their landlord say to their small business tenant, " you can push back the next month's rent due". As Americans following the President's and CDC guidelines to stay home, work from home which is impossible in many industries,  and not gather in groups to help prevent the spread of Covid -19. over the next few months, these small business, should have been equally considered with the travel industries bail out plans in the Stimulus package being reviewed before Congress to encourage them to cease transportation. For the next three months,  millions of small businesses expect to have severe revenue hardships that will detrimentally affect millions of families salaries if smal employers must  chose to pay a loan or make payroll.  Let us not force them to shut their doors sending employees hiking to the unemployment lines.  These small businesses are very fragile during this period and could greatly benefit.  It could keep them out from filing bankruptcy when income and revenue are severly limited due to obstacles in their operations.  They arent asking for a hand out.  They are asking to delay payments due without added interest assessed.  They deserve to receive a 3 month reprieve from making loan payments to all types of financial institutions and banks without penalty, without default for non payment or fear of receiving a negative report from credit agencies.  Why three months?  This is the period that the Global pandemic is expected to consume and move through our nation altering our everyday behavior.  While temporary, it is enough to throw every single small business into a dark tunnel never to see the light of day again.  These small businesses are owned by the average middle class person.  He could be your neighbor.   By signing this petition, you are letting our nation's leaders know you support the working man and small business over the billions of dollars in profits taken by the banking industry in interest payments made by small business owners and their employees.  The money these financial institutions charge us is often used to lobby congress against our immediate interests. We need to maintain our economic strength of the people by supporting these people.    So without your signature, we will be letting big banks win over the working man during the most critical period in our nation's economic history. Sign the Petition and say we are #teamamerica. God bless all of us!!!

Condemn Ethiopian State Violence and Demand the Release of All Political Prisoners

Sign this petition to demand, alongside the Oromo Community, the immediate release of all political prisoners in Ethiopia without any preconditions and an end to Ethiopian state violence. Sign this petition to also demand that the Ethiopian Government stop its extrajudicial killings across the country, lift the internet shutdown and stop the censorship of media and journalists. BACKGROUND: On June 29, 2020, prominent Oromo artist-activist Hachalu Hundessa was gunned down and murdered in Finfinne (Addis Ababa), Ethiopia. The Oromo Community across the United States and around the world is shocked, devastated and pained by the assassination of Hachalu. Hachalu was a living legend, our hero, and the voice of the Oromo people. He was an artist who was able to musically capture the Oromo culture and aspirations for freedom, human rights and equality for the Oromo people in Ethiopia.  Hachalu’s music had been the soundtrack to the 2014-2018 Oromo Protests Movement, which led to the resignation of former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desagln and the toppling of the TPLF authoritarian regime. Hachalu had the unique capability to capture the Oromo struggle for equality and human rights in Ethiopia--a struggle that is now unfortunately still ongoing due to the continuation of extrajudicial killings, military command posts in the western and southern areas of the Oromia region, political imprisonment and the indefinite postponement of elections under current Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. Prime Minister Abiy has failed to usher in democracy, respect for human rights and peace in Ethiopia. Hachalu criticized Prime Minister Abiy’s human rights abuses just one week before his assassiation. We believe Hachalu was targeted because of his identity and for sharing his criticisms and point of view unapologetically.  We have not only lost Hachalu. Our community continues to experience senseless killings and violence. Following Hachalu’s murder, the Ethiopian security officers shot and killed protestors who were mourning Hachalu and detained many Oromo political opposition group leaders and members, such as Bekele Gerba, Jawar Mohammed, Dejene Tafa, Dr. Shugux Galataa, Mikael Boran, Kennasaa Ayyaanaa, and dozens of journalists, activists, and civilians. Two U.S. citizens who were visiting Ethiopia from their home state of Washington, Redwan Aman and Yusuf Beshir, were also illegally detained. The Ethiopian government also shut down a prominent media network and internet access across the country. Oromos have experienced a long history of systemic marginalization, abuses, killings, imprisonment, all documented by human rights organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. The Oromo Community is asking: when will these senseless killings stop? When will Ethiopia and its government recognize and value the human rights of Oromo citizens?  Sign this petition to demand, alongside the Oromo Community, the immediate release of all political prisoners in Ethiopia without any preconditions and an end to Ethiopian state violence. Ethiopian government must stop all extrajudicial killings, lift the internet shutdown and stop the censorship of media and journalists.

Petition to Register "Racial Predators" in a Public Database!

This petition aims to help pass a bill that would create a public registry for people who have been found guilty of committing a felony racial hate crime, similar to what already exists for those convicted of sex crimes. First and foremost, we would like to convey our deepest condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives due to the unjust, systematically biased America in which we find ourselves; in which we have always found ourselves. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Laquan McDonald, Tamir Rice, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, Rekia Boyd, Walter Scott and so many others. As we have witnessed the irreparable harm that has already been done, we continue to see African Americans subjected to these injustices daily. And we continue to see the perpetrators of these injustices not be held accountable. This must change. Recently, there has been a plethora of videos to surface that shows racist people flaunting, abusing and misusing 911 as their own personal tool to fulfill their racist intentions. This crime is not only racist, it is reckless, abhorrent and could lead to death. Since the murder of Emmett Till, it has been a constant plague in our society. Lawmakers in the city of New York have recently passed legislation that will make false race-based 911 reports a hate crime, according to Andrew Cuomo’s “Say Their Name” Reform Agenda. We vehemently support this bill, but want to push it further. We demand that those convicted be entered into a public database as Racial Predators. Eventually we hope to include all hate crimes (including, but not limited to, hate crimes based on sexual orientation/identification, creed or sex.) There is no legal accountability that is sufficient enough for the magnitude of this crime; nothing that would deter the misuse of our justice system or the continuation of these false accusations. This petition calls to not only hold civilians accountable for race-based actions, but also for the accountability of Law Enforcement. In a Guardian article, Paul Butler states: “Cops routinely hurt and humiliate black people because that is what they are paid to do. Virtually every objective investigation of a US law enforcement agency finds that the police, as policy, treat African Americans with contempt.” These officers will search for every reason that might lead to an arrest and abusers have used this to their advantage. The transparency of police officer’s prior disciplinary records, as well as the elimination of “Qualified Immunity” are essential in this venture. Truly reforming our broken system requires getting to the foundation of how it works. A farmer knows that nothing will grow an overgrown field by merely sprinkling seeds on top of the weeds. They need to clear the field and till the soil in order for things to grow. Let’s do what we need to do to plant the seeds that will feed and sustain our society. We are demanding through this petition that anyone, including police officers who are convicted in this crime or any other racist hate crimes, MUST be registered as a racial predator in a public database so that we all know who they are. Enough is enough.

Ban LGBTQ+ Conversion Therapy

Conversion therapy in America is a problem that has been ignored for far too long and if left to fester, will continue to harm millions of LGBTQ+ children nationwide.  What is Conversion Therapy? While conversion therapy varies in practice, ranging from physical adverse conditioning to blatant shaming, the lack of scientific proof backing up the usefulness of these practices as well as the long-lasting negative effects are still the same.  Conversion therapy is usually forced onto LGBTQ+ minors by their legal guardians. Studies have shown that children being mistreated for identifying as LGBTQ+ are: 8 times more likely to have attempted suicide 6 times more likely to have reported high levels of depression 3 times more likely to use illegal drugs and 3 times as likely to be at a high risk for HIV and STDS compared to most other children or teenagers their age. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration also calls for the elimination of LGBTQ+ conversion therapy, having once stated “Specifically, conversion therapy—efforts to change an individual’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression —is a practice that is not supported by credible evidence and has been disavowed by behavioral health experts and associations. Conversion therapy perpetuates outdated views of gender roles and identities as well as the negative stereotype that being a sexual or gender minority or identifying as LGBTQ is an abnormal aspect of human development. Most importantly, it may put young people at risk of serious harm.” What We Want While in states such as California, Hawaii, and Rhode Island, the practice of conversion therapy upon children is outlawed, we call for a nationwide ban in America to protect LGBTQ+ youth from the harms conversion therapy inflicts.
