Ban Child Sex Dolls

Right now, teachers, coaches, babysitters, and neighbors, in every town in America, can purchase lifelike, anatomically correct dolls designed to simulate sex with a child. And it’s perfectly legal. These sick dolls are being imported into the United States and other countries. British police have seized more than 100 already in the UK, and authorities have found that the people buying them usually have child pornography too. Sign this petition to ban the sale and distribution of child sex dolls! These child sex dolls can normalize a pedophile’s behaviors, emboldening them to harm children, as is often the case with those who view child pornography. According to the CDC, 1 in 5 children are sexually abused. One child is too many. Our elected officials need to protect children. That’s why Congressman Dan Donovan from New York is introducing legislation that will ban the distribution and sale of dolls that encourage child abuse. Show your support for this legislation by signing this petition, and help protect America’s children!

Free Ahed Tamimi

My name is Nasri Akil from Toronto, Canada. I started this campaign to support" Ahed Tamimi", her mother "Mariam", her cousin "Nur" and the other kids detained by the evil hands of the Zionists of the fake state of Israel. In a desperate hope to get enough signature to put pressure on decision makers to do something about the constant twisted detention of Palestinian kids. In turn this will expose the evil of the zionists and pressure the international community. I would like to mention here that this petition has nothing to do with race or religion or ethnicity. It's pure right against wrong. Zionism is not Judaism. Judaism is a religion not a race. Many Jews are not Zionists. Most Zionists are not Jews. Many Zionists hate Jews. Opposition to Israel is NOT anti-Semitism. Ahed Tamimi, 16, was arrested ( kidnapped actually ) by Israeli forces in the middle of the night. Since she was a young child, she has been active in weekly demonstrations against Israel’s theft of her family’s land in occupied Nabi Saleh. But as Tamimi stands against Israeli occupation, she underscores: whenever a people face oppression, we must show solidarity. Israeli soldiers shot Ahed Tamimi's relative in the head, leaving the teenage boy in a coma, and then invaded her family home. She demanded that the occupying Israeli soldiers leave her property immediately, shouting "don't touch me" and "leave!" Now she's in Israeli military detention, where 75% of Palestinian children report assault. Ahed is a child, and like thousands of Palestinian children she could be humiliated and abused if we don't get her out fast. She has become another child statistic of the countless other children detained illegally in Israel. Her court date is December 25th, 2017. She was taken into question at the Moscobiyeh prison, notorious for it's dungeon cell, torture tactics fully utilized on children, and extensive harassment. She was put in isolation, left in an icy cell, without proper food. In fives days she was moved three times. Why? To exhaust and break her.  When her mother arrived to be there with her, she too was arrested.  We demand that Ahed and all Palestinian children are released from Israeli prisons now.  The international community must put an end to the ill-treatment and detention of Palestinian children. Enough is enough.  Ahed Tamimi represent all the innocent kids in the Isareli detention and represent the Palestinians struggle against the illegal occupation of Palestine. Since 1967, Palestinian children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory have been living under Israeli military law and prosecuted in military courts. Israeli military law, which fails to ensure and denies basic and fundamental rights, is applied to the whole Palestinian population. Israel is the only country in the world that automatically prosecutes children in military courts that lack basic and fundamental fair trial guarantees. Since 2000, at least 8,000 Palestinian children have been arrested and prosecuted in an Israeli military detention system notorious for the systematic ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children. Around 500-700 Palestinian children are arrested, detained and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system each year. The majority of Palestinian child detainees are charged with throwing stones, and three out of four experience physical violence during arrest, transfer or interrogation. Unlike Israeli children living in illegal settlements in the West Bank, Palestinian children are not accompanied by a parent and are generally interrogated without the benefit of legal advice, or being informed of their right. They are overwhelmingly accused of throwing stones, an offense that can lead to a potential maximum sentence of 10 to 20 years depending on a child’s age. AHED TAMIMI will go to trial on Christmas Day for slapping an Israeli soldier, illegally trespassing on her property, the day after her 15-year-old cousin was shot in the face. In December 2011, Mustafa Tamimi was killed during a protest in the village when an Israeli soldier shot him in the face with a tear gas canister. One year later, Israeli soldiers shot and killed Rashadi Tamimi in the village. One wonders why the "slap" is the Crime? I decided to do something about it and start with what I can. So that's why I am here asking you to help me help Ahed, her family and all the other kids. I also started a fund raising campaign on "GoFundMe" hoping to raise enough money to hire as many legal advisors to support Ahed and the others legaly in the court and get some justice. I mean enough is enough...I can't sleep I can't eat and these kids are experiencing all of that twist. Someone must do something. This is not right. This is not humanity. We cannot make this acceptable by doing nothing.  I earnestly ask that at the very least, we make some noise in support of Ahed Tamimi and the other children that are held prisoners with no charge, no defense, all in violation of international laws.   She is one, but we are many. It takes a united front to add pressure, to induce accountability and hopefully give freedom to the oppressed, weak and innocent.  To Ahed and all the children in Israeli jails: We stand by your side, and are holding you in our hearts. We will not give up until you are free. You are not alone. As a wise man ounce said: "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible" Sign. Support. Make Noise. Add Pressure. Be Human.  what if Ahed was your daughter, sister or just a friend? What would you do?

China: Release the 1 Million Uyghurs Detained in Nazi-Style Concentration Camps

China: Release The 1 Million Uyghur Detainees Held Illegally In Nazi-Style Concentration Camps   By  Torchlight Uyghur Group  (Mesheluyghur@gmail.com) www.facebook.com/torchuyghur/  https://twitter.com/torch_uyghur http://blog.freedomsherald.org/ This Petition Is Also Available In The Following Languages: Turkish (Turkçe), German (Deutsch), Japanese (日本語),  Chinese (中文), Traditional Chinese (繁体字), French (Français), Arabic (عربى), Uyghur (ئۇيغۇرچە), Slawyan (Kiril), Russian(Pусский) January 20th, 2018        Many media organizations around the world have recently reported that a large portion of the Uyghur population is being detained either in jails or in so-called “re-education camps” (http://freedomsherald.org/ET/unb/ while their children are being kept in countless orphanages in the East Turkestan.   Recently, we have learned from official sources inside East Turkestan that the number of the Uyghurs currently being held in these Nazi-style political “re-education” concentration camps is more than 800,000.  That is a number known officially inside East Turkestan, but all the unofficial numbers we obtained from various sources exceed one million. According to the 2010 Chinese census, the Uyghur population in East Turkestan was 10,000,370 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang This means that about 10% of the current Uyghur population is locked up.  The conditions of the concentration camps are horrific because of the fact that such a large number of Uyghurs are locked up in relatively small and crowded spaces. We were told by several people who fled China recently that people even cannot lie down during the night with their backs on the floor; instead, they have to sleep sideways with all the adjacent bodies touching one another. We have also learned from some Uyghurs who recently lost their close relatives in the concentration camps that a significant number of Uyghurs are losing their lives in those camps every day. The families of the victims are just receiving their dead bodies from those overcrowded concentration camps. The local authorities are not giving back the bodies of the younger Uyghurs died, instead, just burying them in the nearby empty fields. These are just a few of the many examples of the horrible conditions in these concentration camps.   How did those more than one million people end up in jails, concentration camps and orphanages?  It is extremely difficult to obtain such information in China, but we have managed to get information on some individual cases from the relatives of those victims’ living outside China (The report titled “Political persecution of the Uyghurs – Brief description of some individual cases” at http://freedomsherald.org/ET/unb/ The Uyghurs are one of the ancient peoples living in the heart of Asia. They have a long and proud history, and a rich culture. Throughout the history, the Uyghurs have been a great contributor to the world peace and prosperity.  Due  to their geographical location along the famous Silk Road, they have been a major force in the cultural exchange between the East and the West. We strongly believe that the Uyghurs are an indispensable part of the wider international community and will continue such contribution to the world’s ethnic and cultural diversities in the future. Similarly, the Uyghurs will contribute to the world's peace and prosperity, just as they have done in the past. Therefore, the Uyghurs have every right to live in peace with dignity, and to continuously prosper, as any other nations on the surface of our mother Earth. However, in the recent decades, the Chinese government has banned the Uyghur language from its use at all levels of education in East Turkestan, outlawed Uyghur literature (by banning and burning historical and literature books written in the Uyghur language), restricted, criminalized and attempted to eliminate Uyghurs’ religious belief and practice, and has systematically flooded East Turkestan with Han Chinese migrants in the name of “developing the West”, and thereby marginalized the Uyghurs in their own homeland.  And now the Chinese government is openly killing the Uyghur people, too, in those Nazi-style Chinese concentration camps by implementing a state-sponsored ethnic cleansing policy.  If we don’t get help immediately from the United Nations and from the international community to stop the Chinese government from what they are doing towards the Uyghurs in East Turkestan, the Uyghurs will keep dying and disappearing in large numbers in those Chinese concentration camps (http://www.freedomsherald.org/ET/images/image201801_13.jpg and will soon face an unprecedented threat to their very existence. Therefore, we appeal to all the international communities and human rights organizations not to ignore the Chinese government’s crimes against humanity – the crimes currently being committed against the innocent Uyghur people.  We appeal to the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to demand the Chinese government to release those  1 million Uyghurs, and send investigation teams to East Turkestan and find out: ●      Where are those jails, concentration camps and orphanages? ●      Why and where those one million Uyghurs are being detained? ●      What are they eating and where and how are they sleeping? ●      What are they doing during the day? ●      What are their current health conditions? ●      What are the current death rates among the detainees? ●      What is happening to the children/siblings/parents of the people held in jails and concentration camps?  We, the Uyghurs, are powerless and helpless at the moment.  As such, we cannot defend ourselves against the Chinese government’s atrocities and cannot fight this battle for our survival alone.  We need the support of the global community.  If tens of thousands of people from around the world sign our petition, it may be possible that the United Nations will make a commitment and will act to stop the tragedy that the Uyghur people are facing today.  Please join us in our fight to end the appalling atrocities happening in East Turkestan. Please sign and share this petition. Thank you!  About the Uyghur People and East Turkestan:  East Turkestan is the homeland of the Uyghur people. It has been under the communist China' s occupation since 1949. East Turkestan is located in the Central Asia, and borders China and Mongolia to the east, Russia to the north, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India to the west, and Tibet to the south. The landmass of East Turkestan is bigger than whole Western Europe. Its colonial name is “Xinjiang”, which means "the new territory" or "the new frontier" in Chinese. China officially designated the East Turkestan a Uyghur autonomous region in 1955, but in reality it has never become a genuine autonomous region. The Chinese government reported the number of the Uyghur population in East Turkestan as 10,000,370 (refer to the 2010 Chinese census), but some Uyghur sources estimate the real population of Uyghurs to be around 20 million.

Together we can help fight a disease impacting sickle cell trait carriers

My name is Cora Connor and I am writing you on behalf of the estimated 3.1 million Americans affected by Sickle Cell Trait, a common blood disorder, affecting more than three hundred million people worldwide. Individuals with this disorder only carry one defective gene and generally live normal lives. These individuals are at risk for kidney injury, as recently recognized by the NCAA, and other illness. Many people (Sickle Cell Trait carriers, family members, and even physicians) are unaware that there is a rare form of kidney cancer associated with sickle cell trait, called renal medullary carcinoma (RMC). Renal medullary carcinoma is a very aggressive form of kidney cancer and is almost exclusively seen in young African Americans, under the age of 30. The prognosis of these young patients is dismal. Typical survival is under 12 months. Renal medullary carcinoma was first discovered in 1995, but between 1995 and 2012, only 240 cases were reported to The North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR). There are a number of areas of concern with regard to this cancer: We need to determine the true prevalence of RMC. Because we lack national health policy that reinforces education about sickle cell trait, many patients do not know their status, or their risk. Without standard screening tests, early detection is almost impossible. There has never been research funding for RMC, so treatment options are limited. Furthermore, most physicians are not familiar with the disease and lack knowledge to deal with this cancer effectively. When patients are able to reach doctors that have RMC expertise, they are usually out of state and many insurance plans will not allow their patients to leave the state of residence, even if there are no local options. This is particularly true for Medicaid covered children and young adults. As a result, many people are denied the option to receive expert care. We have assembled a multidisciplinary focus group, initially through support from The William Guy Forbeck Research Foundation, with physicians, scientists, and lay participant advocates from across the United States, Europe and the Middle East. The goal of this focus group is to begin to raise awareness and to elevate the research for RMC. We are appealing to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to promote renal medullary carcinoma research, awareness and disease intervention initiatives across the United States. We need to educate the public, as well as health care providers, about sickle cell trait and renal medullary carcinoma. We also need to launch a screening program and create a registry for this disease in order for health care providers to work collaboratively, nationally and internationally, to treat this disease and bridge the gap that currently exists in meeting the health care needs of the individuals suffering from this disease. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, Cora Connor

Make Endometriosis A Recognized Disability In the United States

1 in 10 women suffer with Endometriosis which has no cure. Most of these women are in the twenty to forty age group (can be younger or older) and of the women who have this condition up to 40% are infertile. Unfortunately it can take up to 10 years for a woman to be diagnosed with endometriosis. Many struggle to keep jobs or have lost their jobs due to this painful condition. As of right now social security does not recognized endometriosis on the disability list. It is because they consider the pain to be intermittent and can be manged with medication which endo suffers can agree that that is not always the case. Too often women are turned down because of this reason. This petition has been made so that we can get this condition recognized as a disability in the United States. Too often we must suffer because we have no other resort. I hope that we can reach the white house and make this happen.  Everyone please sign, this condition is so common that if you are not a sufferer yourself you know someone (mother, sister, aunt, daughter, wife, girlfriend, friend, etc.) that suffers from it. Thank you for your support!

Expand the post-9/11 caregiver program to all U.S. veterans

Many of our military veterans have health issues stemming from their service to our country in foreign wars. These issues often require ongoing caregiver assistance. Veterans who served after 9/11 have received the most generous benefits, which has left our other veterans scrounging to cover needed care. Senator Patty Murray’s latest attempt to bridge this disparity, the Military and Veteran Caregiver Improvement Act, has been stuck in Senate committee since 2015. This act is important because so many of the caregiver programs are geared toward post- 9/11 military veterans. Meanwhile, the veterans of our wars in Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and others have been forced to rely on their family and friends for needed care. Many spouses are faced with the tough choice to put their loved ones into a nursing home so they can get a job to help support their family. Others, like my own mother, stay at home to care for their veteran and are forced to scrape and scrounge every single penny to make ends meet. Veterans from all eras have sacrificed to serve and protect our nation. They have seen and experienced things that few of us could even imagine. And many of them have been exposed to weapon materials that are extremely toxic and dangerous -- leaving them with ailments that plague them for the rest of their lives. We have to do more to care for these heroes. If you believe that our veterans are valuable and deserve the resources necessary to ensure a decent quality of life. If you agree, please sign and share this petition to tell Congress to pass the Military and Veteran Caregiver Improvement Act, or a bill similar in wording.

Congress: The American People Call For Stricter Gun Laws Now

Growing up, the thought of a school shooting was unheard of. It never crossed my mind, nor the mind of my parents. Now, it’s sad to say that it has become the new norm for Americans. Everyday, we hear about a mass shooting, a school incident, a family being murdered or a child being accidentally killed by a firearm. When did it become okay to hear these sort of incidents reported and not even bat an eye? Now, as a parent of two small children, I often find myself thinking of when my kids will start school. And instead of thinking about how much I will probably cry on that first day I drop them off and watch them walk away like proud, independent little men, I find myself thinking about what to tell my kids to do in the case of a shooting. I find myself thinking, what if one of my boys become one of the 2400 children injured or killed by a gunman (credit: Gun Violence Archive)? It’s not something a parent should have to think about. It’s not something a child should have to think about. The NRA campaigns against all forms of gun control strictly for their own benefit. They spend over $3 million dollars per year to influence gun policy (credit: BBC News). They claim it makes the country safer, but I’m sure that’s because of the money stuffed in their overflowing pockets. According to the IRS, the NRA made $20.9 million from selling advertising to industry companies. The firearms industry makes $31.8 billion of the U.S. economy (credit: Business Insider). Most are calling for a ban on assault weapons. However, a study conducted by the FBI shows that most murders are caused by handguns (credit: NIJ). The ban on assault weapons is definitely a must. However, we need to look at the bigger picture and voice the need for stricter gun laws on all weapons. Yes, it will not stop people from getting weapons, but adding that extra step will deter those with bad intentions from simply walking into a shop and slapping down a few dollar bills. An even more radical, and possibly better idea, would be to change the second amendment. The United States Constitution was created on the foundation of our country in 1789. Now, more than 200 years later, I think it’s safe to say that time’s change and people change. It is necessary for us to make certain appropriations in order to regulate that. After all, “a well regulated Militia…” is the only necessary security to our free State. According to the Gun Violence Archive, Americans own an estimated 265 million guns. That is enough for every adult American to own more than one gun each. There is a historic and deep-rooted sense of identity in being able to own a firearm. Nearly three-quarters of Americans say they cannot imagine life without a gun. We are the only civilized country that owns as many guns as there is people and has as many gun related deaths by almost 50% (credit: CNN). The Department of Health and Human Services stated that only 3-5% of violent acts are attributed to individuals with a serious mental illness. We cannot use the excuse of someone being mentally ill for these incidents occurring. Yes, it may be a factor in some cases. But taking that fact into account, it’s not the real problem. The most recent and prominent explanation Americans are giving: bad parenting makes bad people. Is it true? Yes. The age range, however, of these mass shootings are ages 11 to 66. A majority of those incidents were committed by someone over the age of 30. As of 15 February 2018, there have already been 30 mass shootings. How many more are we going to let happen? As a mother, father, wife, husband, partner, son or daughter and a citizen of the United States, stand up. Let your voice be heard. Here are some basic facts to help shed light on gun violence as of late: In 2015 and 2016, there was a school shooting for every month of the year. In 2017, February was the only month that passed without an incident involving a gun (credit: BBC). 56,755 Americans were killed by guns from 2014-2017 (credit: The Week). In 2017, more than 70,000 injuries were attributed to gun violence (credit: The Guardian). A mass shooting is defined as an incident in which four or more people are shot, not including the shooter. This happens 9 out of every 10 days (credit: The Guardian). More people have died by gun violence than from the war. Since 1968, there have been 1,516,863 gun-related deaths. Since the United States was founded, there have been 1,396,733 reported deaths related to the war, as of October 2017 (credit: The Guardian).

Stop The Statute of Limitations (SOL) on Sex Crimes - Sexual Assault, Pedophilia, Rape

Lesley Barton’s WWII hero father once said to her, “You should never take advantage of someone that is weak or vulnerable just because you can." Little did he know how much his simple words would one day mean to his beloved daughter as the 1st survivor of 10 (4 in SOL 6 outside of it) known victims to report a 15 yr active and violent serial rapist who continuously got off with slaps on the wrist. The time is NOW to Stop The Statute of Limitations on Sex Crimes for children and adults. Please click the link below to learn more about her and her sisters’ fight against sadistic and emboldened rapist Marc Winner and to really understand the gravity of predators like him who are able to use the statute of limitations against their victims to their advantage. http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/December-2016/Marc-Winner/__________________________________________Lesley’s story... Over 16 years, she’d hoped and prayed this day would actually never come, because although she knew he couldn’t stop-it was her greatest wish that he would, so no one else would be violently raped by him again. Painfully, that was not the case with 4 in the Statute of Limitations and 10 known total in a 15 year period. The continuous promises made to her when they wanted her to be okay with the plea deal, were not kept. Woman after woman reported him only to be disbelieved and disregarded, because of archaic belief systems even within the justice system and Chicagoland Cook County City and Suburbs being on different computer systems. How senseless is that? This has not been an easy road for her and her sisters. It’s actually been harder than any victim survivor could ever be able to explain. Our msister and brother survivors understand why sexual assault is the most under reported crime, because coming forward in order to protect others from a monster has no upsides due to the revictimization of stigma, harassment, a pretty inept and broken system, and those who want to make rape of all things about politics or shaming and blaming the survivor rather than stopping the perp. It’s been a long 16+ years for Lesley Barton who was the first to report Marc Winner for criminal sexual assault. Even after she came to terms with the unthinkable by finding some joy again she was really thrown for a loop that invasion day almost two years ago now when she found out he was back or actually never left. For he remained active and her reporting him, going to all their trial dates, and his slap on the wrist plea deal didn’t keep him from continuing his proclivity to do irreparable and permanent harm. Lesley no lomger feels any of the unfounded shame or blame any longer. She could really careless what the ignorant callous bullies towards survivors of rape think or say either. She does however feel an immense responsibility to her sisters who survived him, all sister and brother survivors, and the community at large to see this through to the end-to finish this-and to help convict him anyway they lawfully can so he never hurts another living soul again. Many confusingly mock and attack survivor activists who put it all on the line to stop criminals by using the term social justice warrior as a negative connotation on the internet and elsewhere. However, what they don’t seem to understand is that this is NOT a political issue and a violent despicable crime such as rape can never be referred to as “social.” It’s a matter of stopping a violent criminal from seriously hurting others in a way that the survivors receive a life sentence. Rape is actually a CRIMINAL JUSTICE issue-always has been, always will be. As a Criminal Justice issue, one way to end the emboldening of predators like Marc Winner, Brock Turner, Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, James Toback, Kevin Spacey, Brett Ratner, Louis CK, USA Gymnasts Dr. Larry Nassar, Thad Alton, and Denny Hastert (to name only a small few) is to Stop the Statute of Limitations Clock. Predators know very well that they have a time clock they can easily run out during the often decades of time it takes a victim to come forward and be a survivor. The time is NOW to #StopTheStatute of Limitations on Sex Crimes in every state for children and adults, once and for all. There are no statutes in different states on Forgery, types of Fraud, Murder, Manslaughter, Attempted Murder, Arson, types of DUI accidents, and even in a few on Rape, but a few isn’t good enough-Rape is a life sentence, so should be the time period it takes to report it (which remember does not mean the lack of burden of proof) in order to help deter. The system needs to give survivors the time they need to come to terms with the heinous violation to their body and spirit in order to get closure and justice-How can’t everyone have some common sense, reasonably understand, and get behind that? #metoo#Ibelieveyou#stopthestatute

Impeach Donald J Trump: The Million American Petition

Your signature is the new vote; it's not too late.  The Constitution of the United States, Art. 2, S. 4, provides, that the president, vice-president, and civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. We, the undersigned, lobby for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump suspected of treason, in violation of THE USA PATRIOT ACT, for conspiring with Russia in tampering with the results of the 2016 election results. He and his administration are an immediate threat to national security, and his use of intimidation as president presents undeniable challenges in this investigation. Ergo, we petition his immediate removal from office as well as the removal of Vice President Mike Pence and all civil officers appointed under his rule pending the results of his administration's investigation. Donald J. Trump has violated the Federal law under civil and criminal ordinances with his documented use of libelous and insulting hate speech referencing American citizens of color, immigrants and those practicing the Muslim faith. His promotion and acceptance of violence towards American citizens has incited violence, discrimination and increased tensions throughout this nation. Furthermore, Donald J. Trump is in violation of state law in the following 34 states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado,  Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming  He is guilty of multiple counts of cyber bullying, before, during and following his election campaign, the most egregious being his statements regarding Mexicans, Muslims, the black community and his continuous taunting of China. Unlawful conduct of any kind, be it past, present or future is unacceptable of any person holding the office of President of the United States of America. He has caused international conflict with our allies and is dangerously close to destroying peaceful foreign relations. Donald J. Trump’s leadership poses a threat to the peace and safety of our nation on both national and international levels. His immoral reputation and misconduct are an embarrassment and threat to the freedoms this country stands for and will not be tolerated by American citizens.

Send Helicopter Aid to Puerto Rico to save lives NOW!

Supplies getting to Puerto Rico have been bottlenecked. They are sitting in warehouses in Puerto Rico and are not being distributed to the people on the island that are in desperate need.  People are living without access to food and water.  Because of the Jones act the island is unable to receive aid from anywhere but the USA unless the USA decides to waive this (which as of 9/26 they have not).  We also have failing infrastructure throughout the island due to the overwhelming amount of debt we hold and an unyielding attitude to allow us to restructure the debt or have access to bankruptcy court.  PROMESA was nothing but broken promises to our people.  We have still seen no debt relief in any form since the passing of the bill.  We demand respect and dignity as people who have been continuously exploited by the USA despite the immense sacrifices we have made for this country economically and militarily.  We demand the following: 1. Suspend the Jones Act just as was done for FL & TX & allow foreign relief vessels into Puerto Rico. EEUU controls air and marine frontiers in Puerto Rico. They need to be open NOW for any and all international help. The Jones Act needs to be waived for hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.2. Extend D.C. TAG funding to undocumented students

Dear Petitioners, You probably know the changes that you suggested and that I have worked for to extend DCTAG to undocumented students may be challenging to get passed in the current Congress, where the Republican-led House is opposed to providing any new benefits or rights to undocumented immigrants. However, I would like you to know what I have done. I have always supported making DCTAG available to all D.C. students, regardless of their immigration status. I was a cosponsor of the Dream Act, which passed the House in December 2010. I also signed a letter to President Obama asking him to suspend deportations and expand the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in December 2013. In addition, I am a cosponsor of the House companion to the Senate-passed a comprehensive immigration reform bill, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act. In addition to legislation, I created a Congressional Latino Council (CLC) in 2009 to assist me in addressing the needs of our Latino community. On July 8th, in response to the growing number of unaccompanied children crossing the U.S. border, I met with my CLC and other D.C. Latino leaders, and several recommendations to address the growing needs of the children and their families emerged from that meeting [http://norton.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/refugee-status-pro-bono-lawyers-regional-coordination-among]. Despite the opposition of the Republican-controlled House, I will continue to work with my colleagues in the House and Senate to extend DCTAG to undocumented students and, ultimately, to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
