Our team spans 18 countries and empowers hundreds of millions of people to have a voice and fight injustice. We’re a social impact business, and we’re aiming to build a world where no one is powerless and where creating change is a part of everyday life.

About the role:

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant/Senior Financial Analyst to join our team of talented finance professionals. This dual role is a great opportunity to develop one’s skill set in both accounting and finance. The ideal candidate is resourceful, hands-on, results-oriented, and capable of toggling seamlessly between the two areas. We are looking for someone who is ready for their next big challenge and has a desire to make an impact. This role will report directly to the Controller and is based in our San Francisco office.

You will be responsible for many aspects of G/L accounting, but will also own FP&A tasks, including financial reporting (internal and external), performance monitoring, financial modeling, forecasting, and other special projects as needed. Our team adds value to Change.org via best practice-based financial controls and processes, complete and accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and decision support. We need an agile problem solver who can contribute to the optimization of our internal processes and development of long-term solutions for the company. You’ll work alongside highly talented, dedicated individuals who will inspire and challenge you to learn, grow, and contribute to the Company’s ongoing success.

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close activities and deliverables, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and flux variance analysis.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform intercompany account reconciliations and consolidations, including foreign currency conversions and elimination entries.
  • Document processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to their implementation.
  • Assist with annual audits and process control testing.
  • Provide timely, complete, and accurate accounting information to customers on an ad hoc basis, and complete other projects as directed by the Controller.
  • Assist the Financial Planning Manager with the preparation of internal and external financial reports, performance monitoring, variance analysis, financial modeling, expense forecasting, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

This describes you:

  • At least 5-8 plus years of hands-on accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • BS in Accounting/Finance required; CPA, CMA, or MS degree a strong plus.
  • Must possess hands-on functional expertise including working knowledge of Enterprise-level accounting solutions such as NetSuite (preferred), Oracle or SAP.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Excel, MS Word, Google Apps and Keynote.
  • Analytical and organizational skills coupled with the ability to multitask effectively without compromising quality of work.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively and communicate with all levels of the company.
  • You will bring a strong sense of ownership to your areas of responsibility, a spirit of collaboration to the team, and enthusiasm for the Company’s mission.

Interested? Great! Here's what you should know:

  • This is a full-time opportunity.
  • Most work is performed in an open and collaborative area.
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates based in San Francisco Bay Area.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.

We are working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life. We're just getting started, and we hope you'll join us.
