Change.org is the world's largest technology platform for social change. Our goal is to empower people everywhere to start campaigns around the issues they care about, mobilize others, and work with decision makers to drive solutions. We’re also an innovative business – a "social enterprise” and a certified B Corporation, with a business model designed to support positive social impact (more about B Corps:www.bcorporation.net).

We have an exciting opening for an exceptional campaigner to join our Spanish team. This is a permanent full-time role in which you'll be a part of crafting and executing rapid-response campaigns across dozens of issues – helping thousands of people start and win their own campaigns.

You'll bring together strategy and email campaigning to help empower and grow our 11 million Spanish users – supporting petition starters through both high-profile, national campaigns and important local petitions that are taking Spain by storm.

Candidates must be driven campaigners, excited to join an ambitious, fast-paced and collaborative work environment. Your co-workers are high-impact, low-ego, and have a deep respect for our users. The job is often driven by a campaign cycle, so there are times that involve long hours and times that don’t. Our culture recognises both the needs of campaigns and the need for rest and for our staff to have a life.

We love serving our users, and we love our staff too. We show it through competitive salaries, five weeks annual leave, robust maternity and parental leave, an amazing culture where you'll work alongside some of the world's leading campaign and communications experts, and free language training (if you want it).

Here's what you will be responsible for:

  • Identify promising campaigns started by Change.org users, and help these campaigns win through strategic advice, media outreach, and promotion across the web and to our users via email.
  • Design and execute rapid-response social change campaigns with the potential for explosive growth and swift victories.
  • Research and identify opportunities for creating effective grassroots campaigns around critical social issues.
  • Help coordinate Spain’s email programme including writing, innovative testing, and analysis of results for action alerts.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with activists, petition starters, and community groups to facilitate the use of our platform for social change.
  • Lead on multiple campaigns spanning dozens of issues in a high-paced environment.
  • Develop internal and external learning materials for coworkers and users on best campaigning practices.

This describes you:

  • Strategic campaigner with innovative ideas for how to use online campaigning to win local and national campaigns.
  • A deep commitment to our mission of empowering people everywhere to win campaigns on the issues that matter to them.
  • Extremely proficient written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Skills or experience in writing for an online audience, including call-to-action emails – as well as the related email list management and data analysis. Digital or Email Marketing experience is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of media messaging and framing, and experience in dealing with media on complex issues.
  • Social media skills - experience in online community management or in using a variety of social media tools to engage an online audience.
  • An agile skill set and attitude, capable of working on a range of issues with a diverse range of petition starters.
  • A willingness to take risks, fail, and adapt.

This is a full-time opportunity. The position is located in Madrid, Spain.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.

We are working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life. We're just getting started, and we hope you'll join us.
