Change.org is the world's largest technology platform for social change. Our goal is to empower people everywhere to start campaigns around the issues they care about, mobilize others, and work with decision makers to drive solutions. We’re also an innovative business – a "social enterprise” and a certified B Corporation, with a business model designed to support positive social impact.

Over 170 million people have started and signed petitions, and our users win nearly one victory per hour, including strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; ending the ban on gay Boy Scouts in the United States, and big wins for women’s rights in India. And we’re just getting started. Here’s a small snapshot of some of the victories our users have had:https://youtu.be/h4O81mgK85E

About the role:
The Campaigns Intern will push a number of campaigns out to different social media channels, while also giving advice and support to petition starters. This person will drive campaigns forward by creating images and video to help petition starters win their campaigns and have a bigger impact.

Here are the skills & experience we hope you have:

  • You are passionate about and live for social media: Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Telegram are among your top 5 apps that you check every day
  • You’re not afraid of numbers and data: you can analyse what posts worked well and what has not
  • You know how to use Photoshop, you like to play with layers and you know the difference between .psd, .png or .jpg
  • You have enthusiasm for Video editing: you’ve been using and enjoy working in Premier (or Wochit)
  • You are comfortable writing and conversing in English

Here’s what you’ll do as part of our team:

  • Every day, campaigns reach more and more people as a result of viral videos: you’ll have access to pretty big stories and the opportunity to create materials around them which will be seen by thousands of people and make a real impact
  • You will have the chance to work within the campaign team creating social media content about the petitions started by our users.
