Tiny Tots is an Escondido community preschool serving children from 18 months to kindergarten age. It is an amazing school, taught primarily by the wonderful Miss Kathie. It is the ONLY affordable school for children of this age. It provides children a chance to learn letters, handwriting, numbers, and other primary skills while socializing and playing. Children attend 2 days a week for 2.5 hours each day. From my child (pictured) and talking with other parents, I know kids are excited to go to this school because it is fun and provides adequate structure without being overbearing.

Escondido city council has decided to end it because it is not in the budget somehow. If closed, it would affect the youngest and most economically vulnerable in our community, robbing them of an early education. The only alternatives for children this age are private schools which cost around $500 to $800 for the same amount of time. Little Tots is 1/4 the cost. This effectively locks out all but the most well off from giving their children the primary education they need.

We must act now, otherwise it will be closed this coming fall.
