World Wildlife Fund is urging the companies involved in Sakhalin--ExxonMobil, BP Group, Rosneft--to postpone any development until a commission of experts has assessed the impact on western gray whales and made recommendations regarding further development in this area. We hope they will follow the positive example of Gazprom and Shell, which have already suspended their oil and gas activities.
