World Neighbors is a powerful and unique nonprofit organization because, unlike many nonprofits, it does not give away material aid. WN goes into remote villages and works with the people there to brainstorm solutions to the villagers' most pressing problems. World Neighbors helps along the way, focusing on education rather than material aid, helping the villagers to be able to sustain themselves long after the organization leaves. I personally know some people at the organization, and they're truly caring people who want to invest and make a valuable difference in the lives of others. The orgaization just received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest rating possible. Charity Navigator specifically applauded WN's fiscal responsibility.
