World Neighbors Receives Coveted 4-Star Rating!

Published June 18, 2007 @ 08:35AM PT

As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency, and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars. In this philanthropic marketplace, Charity Navigator has highlighted the sound fiscal management of World Neighbors, an Oklahoma City based international development organization.

Based on the most recent financial information available, the new rating was earned based on the ability to efficiently manage and grow finances.  According to the Charity Navigator report, “World Neighbors out performs the majority of nonprofits in America with the respect to fiscal responsibility”.

“This is quite an honor for us and I know it speaks volumes to those who have supported us in the past and those who may support us in the future,” said Melanie Macdonald, president and chief executive officer of World Neighbors.

Less than a quarter of charities evaluated receive this high of rating.  This information allows donors essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make and demonstrates trustworthiness.

World Neighbors is an international development organization that works with some of the most remote and marginalized communities in ecologically fragile areas of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.  We support the transformation of communities by helping people address hunger, poverty, disease and other challenges that undermine their livelihood, and by inspiring lasting leadership and collective action for change.  Since 1951 we have helped more than 25 million people in 45 nations improve their lives and the communities where they live.
