Wings of the Dawn - Book Cafe - Fort Worth
The time is nigh! WoD will soon be opening a new, long awaited book cafe in Fort Worth, Texas. Serving coffee, education, and the community, we could not be more delighted to open our doors soon.
With our Development Director, Rachel Pittman's, hands on approach to focus on the Book Cafe project on Race Street WOD will pilot a Book Café project from the Race Street facility to create a social learning environment to the residence of this community to include children and adult.
We, at Wings of the Dawn, believe that missions are a important part of any outreach, but provision to empower people to become those missionaries within their own community exponentially affects the power of change. We are so excited to open this facility and hope to in early September, to put to practice the current projects in Africa, in Fort Worth's own community.
Adapting a hybrid profit model of Tom's shoes and the Sevia Cafe in India, Wings of the Dawn breaks all of the conventional rules! Truly here to serve the area, we hope that the efforts are embraced by all to further our missions within the community.
Bringing in local community artists of every sort, and teachings, we hope to inspire AND facilitate the growth of not only the Fort Worth locals, but the global community.
The Race Street location will serve as corporate office of Wings of the Dawn while the space will allow us to showcase our project in Africa to home base constituents in America to feel and experience what we do and to represent our mission and generate some additional streams of revenue to support our cause.
This prototype project will include access to books, periodic educational workshops, provide meeting place for local organizations, internet access and serve branded coffee. All applicable efforts will be made to include neighborhood schools and higher institutions in this project by volunteering their time, skills, materials and even soliciting locally for donations.
Initially, all books and coffee will be served free. That's right, FREE! We will leave the price up to the consumer. What is fair? What is right? It's up to you...
Many of us have a different definition, and at Wings of the Dawn, you will be able to vocalize that in whatever donations you choose to leave. All proceeds will go to further the outreach missions of reaching underdeveloped areas by providing books and learning facilities, job training, and book cafe's.
Please help us by donating here to aid us with the facility, and be sure to check us out on Facebook and Twitter for updates and events! Also, find out more at www.wingsofthedawn.org
If you would like to donate your time, or just know more about the project, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Rachael,
Keep up the good work. To anybody reading this comment on the website, ask yourself why you would want to donate to this cause. There are plenty of reasons not to, but don't let that stand in your way. Rachael has done a really good thing that is against the norm. Convinvce yourself to swim against the stream and donate a few bucks.
