Wells for Schools: Kenya
You can help bring clean water to schools in Kenya.
Water and Education go hand and in hand. Education is the key to unlocking the potential of Kenya's children. But without clean water it's impossible.
We have identified over 20 well sites in Western Kenya and we need your help to raise $4,000 per well to complete these projects. Each well will benefit an average of 500 students. Each of the surrounding communities of over 2,000 people will also have access to clean water from these wells.
That's less than $10 per person to supply water for more than 10 years. It will change everything!
Access to clean water helps school children by:
1.) Dramatically improving health, keeping students in class
2.) Eliminating time wasted fetching dirty water
3.) Enabling proper sanitation which is particulary important for girls
4.) Improving facilities through construction
5.) Removing undue financial burdens on schools who often buy water for basic needs
We're starting with an initial goal to collect $4,000 from individual donors on Change.org.
100% of donations to this project will be used to construct these wells.
If you'd like to join as a group, please consider The Water Challenge.

- Greetings fellow community members! While I had great hopes that my Myspace posts, blogs, and 'The Water Project' page links on both my Myspace page and official website would produce some contributions, I'm extremely disappointed and saddened by the lack of even one donation to date since starting this fundraising page. Consequently, I've decided to pursue efforts on a local level including T-shirt sales and other means to achieve my goal of $500.00 for this project. I'm still hoping my internet website visitors will eventually contribute, but one way or another, I'll reach this goal soon!
