Biosand Filtration Systems: Cameroon
In rural villages where there is decent access to water, filter systems make the most sense. Biosand filtration is a simple but incredibly effective tool to clean water and make it safer to drink.
A concrete or plastic filter is installed in each home, for about $50, and supplies drinking water for entire household (about 8 people).
There's nothing complicated about it. The family pours dirty, diseased filled water in the top and clean, safe water trickles out to be collected.
We'll be tracking these projects in lots of 100 filters...about an average community's worth.
100% of donations to this project will be used to construct and install filters in homes in Cameroon.

- This is where it's at, folks. We gotta BE the change we want. It means a lot of people just giving what they can, even it is a little bit, but giving. What would be more essential than clean water to drink?
