100 People, 100 Miles

We’ve crossed the century mark! In just a short time you have helped gather together a bunch of new faces and a few of our long time supporters too. It’s a real encouragement to have everyone along for this ride.
Along the way this month we’ve met some great folks. Two stand out. Rumaldo O. and Charles H. have both stepped up and created active fundraising campaigns of their own here on Change.
Rumaldo is reaching out to his network of friends and connecting them to our community. He’s also selling t-shirts and encouraging his friends to give. It’s already making an impact!
Charles is running…a long, long way - 100 miles in 30 hours or less (we bet less). You can join Charles on his “Road to Change Project”, as he works toward the goal of running this incredible race while doing an incredible good in Kenya. With your help, he is planning to raise at least $5,000 to help complete a well in Kenya.
Both of these guys help make a point. The power of you is what makes a difference.
Our organization is lean and efficient because it’s our supporters who carry the load. That means together we are more innovative, effective and far reaching. For a few “organizational” folks to do what you can do with the tools here would be much more expensive but have much less impact. You make the difference here.
You help bring clean water to Africa.
Charles put it best in his last blog post and I think it applies to running his race and to helping raise money in general.
"Something I hear from a lot of people when I tell them that I am going to run a 100-mile race (after they say to themselves that I must be brain damaged) is "I couldn't run a mile". Just imagine if tomorrow, you knew that you and your children had to walk 5 miles, carrying a 40 pound water can, just to get a drink of not necessarily clean water, knowing that you had to do that every day just to survive. My running a 100-mile race shrinks in comparison to what these people must face every day."
For you, maybe committing to raise $100 seems like running 100 miles. Ask yourself what Charles asked of himself. Then, it may seem a whole lot easier.
Thanks for your continued support!!

I am thrilled that one of the greatest Olympic runners, Dave Wottle, and his gracious wife have recently provided financial support to the Road to Change project. First and foremost, thanks for the people of Kalimani who will benefit by receiving clean water. Secondly, Dave has inspired countless runners with his amazing gold-medal performance in the 19...
