On March 31, 2009 the Paradise Valley Community College Emerging Leaders Level I Students launched the campuses' first Box City Project Demonstration to raise awareness about the growing epidemic of homeless and poverty in the United States. During the event students, faculty, staff and community members took a pledge to recognize the value of all human life and to be part of the solution.

Proceeds from the event were given to St. Vincent De Paul charities in Phoenix, Arizona. The event raised over $1,200 for St. Vincent de Paul's homeless program.

This was a wonderful event! we're so glad you all chose St. Vincent de Paul's homeless program to benefit from your hard work and generosity. I LOVE the pledges and I think they'd be great "actions" on change.org! Thanks to all of you at PVCC!
