Pocket Change to World Change
Published June 12, 2009 @ 04:35PM PT
Please use this blog to tell us about your coin-collecting adventures (in the comments section). There are many creative ways to help raise coins to help the homeless and working poor in our community. Are you planning a car wash or bake sale? Are you running or swimming laps? Will you practice your instrument a little longer, or help with extra chores?
We can't wait to hear about your great ideas! Visit this blog often to catch up on St. Vincent de Paul's own coin-collecting efforts.
Thanks for changing our world with your change!

My neighbors came up with a cool game for collecting change. Several evenings a week, they get together on the front porch (the verandah). From Hearts & Hands Day mom:
"I find this [coin project] has motivated my older son (somewhat) to do the chores around the house that he has been previously assigned with no pay. I give him minimal payment and he is happy as a clam to do his chores and fill his blue piggy! He also remarks on how much "fatter" the piggy has gotten (weighs more)."
