Smiles Change Lives (SCL) is an organization that delivers life-changing, medically-necessary orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families. Across the U.S., there are over two million young people who need braces to correct a deformed smile.

I am working with another orthodontist to launch a NJ chapter of SCL. Starting a chapter of SCL costs $20,000 and once the funds are raised, I will become a provider of pro-bono orthodontic treatment to patients who really need it. I will not accept any payment for the orthodontic treatment I provide to SCL patients. And with a NJ chapter of SCL, patients in need from all over NJ will have a network of orthodontists providing pro-bono care.

SCL reviews potenital patients, screens them for treatment and then refers needing patients to a SCL orthodontist. Once a patient is accepted into the SCL program, and transferred to me, I will treat the patient at no cost. I am eager to help and provide my services at no charge to patients who need them. I currently do pro-bono care, but on a limited basis as there is no way for me to really screen and determine who is truly in need of pro-bono care.
