Life Skills Retreat for HIV Impacted Teens
Please support Project Kindle by donating to our Life Skills Retreat Program. The goal of our retreat is to service young people ages 16-21, who are infected with or affected by HIV and AIDS, by offering them workshop, presentations and discussions which will give them tools to more easily transition into adulthood. Our vision is to offer the young people we serve a chance to build a stronger future, one in which they believe in themselves, and where they have the leadership and character to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of others. This will be our second annual Life Skills youth retreat. The participants will be coming from our camp community. These are young people who have previously attended our week long summer camp and have "phased out" of our camper program. We saw they had a desire to stay connected to this special community and we wanted to offer them the opportunity to do so, while learning skills to better their chances of a successful future. The retreat will be held in early summer of 2009. But we need to raise the funds for the retreat now. The amount of funds we raise will determine how many youth can attend. The cost per participant is $500. We have already begun planning this amazing four day learning experience. We appreciate your consideration.
