About Kaya

I grew up in Knoxville, TN, a city nestled in a valley of the Smokey Mountains. I moved to Boston to study physics and planetary science at MIT. After graduating, I researched pediatric HIV and TB diagnostics with the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. I will begin medical school in August and plan to pursue infectious diseases. I am primarily interested in global health delivery, specifically the use of existing, low-cost technologies to improve the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases in the developing world.
