Hope is a powerful emotion, and thus it is a powerful word. I use it frequently. I have hope that we can cure many diseases, I have hope that we, as a world, can put aside our petty differences and thrive as one, and I have hope that the United States will accept every citizen for who they are, no matter what. My hope is that the next couple of generations will look back upon our society with the same level of incredulity that we now look back upon the society which existed during the Civil Rights Movement.

At the risk of sounding clichéd, I hope for a society that wont judge me for my beliefs (or lack-there-of) or orientation, but one that judges on merit and achievement instead.
