Between March 22nd and June 29th, many of our supporters came together in an effort to bring individuals and families in sub-Sahara Africa access to clean drinking water. June 29th marked the completion of our “100 Pumps in 100 Days – Second Spin” campaign. We surpassed our goal of 100 pumps in 100 days for the second year in a ro... Read More

We are 59 days into our "100 Pumps in 100 Days" campaign to raise funds to provide clean drinking water to 100 schools and communities -- or 250,000 people -- in sub-Saharan Africa. The response has been tremendous! To date, we've raised enough money for 45 PlayPump(R) water systems in 41 days with gifts from our campaign partners and our supporters. Than... Read More

I came across this write-up in our Sunday Times newspaper (Western Australia):
Pump Up The Fun
Here's one kids' play apparatus doing more than just giving them a fun time. The PlayPump is an ingenious water pump-meets-merry-go-round. As kids play on it, the device pumps and collects water for residents. PlayPump International developed the system to answer the 40 billion hours lost yearly to the hauling of water, mostly in developing countries, often done by girls and young women. The US-based organisation hopes the pump will help achieve gender equality in remote communities. Installed in remote African villages and schools, the pump can collect up to 1400 litres of drinking water while children are at play. The water tower also doubles as a billboard for educational information and ads. Its advertising profits are kept for pump maintenance. There are plans to install 4000 systems around Africa by 2010.

I am joyous to see that God is at work through many compassionate people here at CHANGE.ORG. In my dying eyes that will no longer see through those of the purely finire body, my eternal soul remains grateful, especially because I well and genuinely comprehend what these children go through. Allthough my ten books I have explained both with words and pictorially, how I had lived without sanitation, was inprisoned and tortured, and repeatedly starved to the brink of death with crippling malnutrition, and denied a decent education, as well as all of my basic human rights; including my birthright, to be fed and hydrated and have life ssaving medicines to combat constant infections from not only facing appolling conditions, but inborn immune deficiency. This religious leader, and pacifist leader who has spent her life helping my fellow less fortunate and the condemned, want to spread my blessing and thanks which is enclosed in sincere somberty.
Thank you, PERSONALLY.

A great way to contribute to Playpumps is to go to Vote4cause.org and vote for playpumps. You can vote every 30 seconds and if it wins the round it gets all of the ad money generated by peoples clicks.
