In Honor of Ben Cowan's Bar Mitzvah
Dear friends and family,
Last summer my family and I were volunteers in Dharamsala with CCS. We met Arvind Sharma on a bird watching walk and learned about Piyara Kutta. On our trip I noticed how the people in Dharamsala seemed so kind to me and to each other but I saw them treat the stray animals especially the dogs very cruelly. Just before and after our visit some children were attacked and bitten by rabid dogs and then the dogs were stoned and killed in the community. This raised my awareness and interest in trying to help Piyara Kutta. I think it is important to raise money to vaccinate and neuter the animals as well as to educate the community on how to treat the animals kindly. I am having my Bar Mitzvah this June and as part of this process I am hoping to donate money and help.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

Ben, I love it that you chose to care for the health of dogs and people of Dharamasala. Just a little money goes such a long way toward making a huge difference in so many lives. And it is also great that this is a home-grown and sustainable effort led by someone you know and respect!
Mazel Tov!
