Help Save the Court!
Presidents nominate Supreme Court justices; senators decide on whether to confirm them. So your vote next November will not only determine who the president is and who your senators are — it will have profound implications for who sits on our nation’s highest court. And because the person elected president next November will likely have one or more Supreme Court vacancies to fill over the course of his or her term, the future direction of the Court is in the balance next November.
Take the pledge to help save the Court:
"I pledge to do my part as a citizen to make sure the federal courts are there to protect Americans’ constitutional and legal rights, not undermine them. I will help to educate friends and other members of my community about the importance of the Supreme Court and what’s at stake this election year."
Join thousands of Americans who have taken the pledge -- and learn more about why the Court matters -- at SaveTheCourt.org.
This is an ongoing pledge that should be fulfilled as often as possible.

The court is becoming more and more partisan with each passing year -- Bush v Gore is a good example. If the right wins the election, the court will be stacked for the next 20 years with a conservative block -- this is the most imminent threat to individual freedom that I have seen in my lifetime. The social progress of the 60's will be completely reversed by the new conservative think tank sitting on the high court. Roberts and Alito do not respect stare decisis event though they acknowledge the principle with the appropriate amount of lip service. The Right had its chance, and here we are -- on the virtual precipice --the time for action is now.
