Support the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation

Dear Representative

I am writing to bring to your attention the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (<a href="http://www.auschwitzinstitute.org">AIPR</a>), a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of genocide. The Raphael Lemkin Center of the AIPR has conducted a series of historic seminars on genocide prevention in 2008, where representatives of 22 countries participated with 27 leading scholars.

Through its Raphael Lemkin programs, the AIPR has proved to be a notable international effort to prevent and deter future genocides. The organization provides a much needed forum to teach mid-level government officials and future leaders valuable lessons on former genocides, and how to keep their nations from experiencing future violent conflicts.

I believe that acknowledging the atrocities of genocide is not enough. It is time to put an end to it. I would like to ask you to declare genocide prevention as one of your policy priorities in your work in Congress, and I encourage you to work with the AIPR to achieve this goal.
