Despite our massive protests, the officials went through with the plan. All the pigs have now been executed.

Update:

1/3 of the pigs have been euthanized. The remaining 2/3 of the pigs will be killed en route to their burial today (Tuesday) - there is a small chance that we might be able to save them, but  by Tuesday evening, all 400 pigs are scheduled to have been executed.

Florida state officials are planning to euthanize 400 rescued pigs who have been quarantined for pseudorabies at Pig Tails Animal Shelter. A spokesman for the Florida Department of Agriculture says there is concern that the the pigs may be infected by brucellosis, despite the fact that none of the animals have ever been tested positive.

Pig Tales has been a retirement home for all pigs. During the past 15 years since opening the nonprofit sanctuary, Lory Yazurlo, who runs the sanctuary, has rescued around 400 pigs from eventual abuse and slaughter. The pigs have been quarantined since 2005 for pseudorabies. Flagler County has been trying to get rid of these pigs since 2008, and has openly admitted to Yazurlo that elimination of the pigs has always been their ultimate goal. Now the state and county officials have decided to euthanize all 400 animals as a disease control measure, although the pigs have not been tested positive for brucellosis.
