The current budget cuts proposed by Governor Strickland will have detrimental affects on individuals with disabilities throughout the state of Ohio. The cuts in funding will be devastating to service providers, will compromise the quality of care delivered and could endanger the health and safety of individuals with disabilities.

Individuals with disabilities do not have an active voice to speak out on their own behalf.  This is why I ask you to join in our efforts and be their voice.  Please sign our petition asking Ohio legislators to oppose the Governor's cuts.

URGENT: Governor's Program Devastating to Individuals with Disabilities

Dear Representative

The current budget cuts proposed by Governor Strickland will have detrimental affects on individuals with disabilities throughout the state of Ohio. The cuts in funding will be devastating to service providers, will compromise the quality of care delivered and could endanger the health and safety of individuals with disabilities.

We request the Senate version of the budget be upheld, which provides a reasonable reimbursement rate and safeguards for Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MRs). ICF/MRs have not been fully reimbursed for their costs since 2003, and the rate cuts and higher franchise permit fee will severely impact organizations' ability to provide care.

Individuals with disabilities do not have an active voice to speak out on their own behalf. This is why I ask you to join in our efforts and be their voice. Oppose the proposed cuts and allow individuals with disabilities to maintain their constitutional rights as American citizens.
